Re: what to do with stock struts

They want them stripped. So with nothing but the tube and spindle they don't weigh so much and stack together pretty tight. I think I got 4 sets in a home made crate. I believe I paid to ship to them and they paid to ship their parts to Blaine WA.

Re: what to do with stock struts

I sent them 8 sets last year. Stripping them down to a suitable core is a bit of a pain. Had a few dust sheild screws shear off. And finding something to buy from them is also a problem. Not my first choice for suspension parts. Noticed they just put out a call for more cores but no mention not 510 ...

Re: WTB: Pair Wagon License Plate Lights

Don't know if this helps But it's the rubber that's different between a wagon and sedan. New rubber is available here. Then if you find sedan you can use them. Probably need rubber anyway. http://www.new-datsun-parts.com/datsun-510-parts-rubber.html Scroll down it's there. I've bought the sedan ones...

Re: Brake Master Question

My son now drives the car with SU'S. He has stock rears and zx front, and a 7/8th master with the opposite bleeders. Brakes seem just fine. A large syringe to suck up the brake fluid comes in handy to remove the front resiviour. It a hassle but for the look it's worth it for me. There is no hidden c...

Re: Brake Master Question

There are masters with the bleeders on the other side. I've often wondered if RHD cars got those. Maybe.more common in Australia. I've got one and ground off the boss to make clearance. The flattop Su airfilter has a dimple in it and fits with no nipple. I've bled and cut the tip of the bleeder nipp...

Re: KKS Aluminum Radiators - Anyone Tried them?

I'm going to guess with the lip out of the way it would clear the alt. As well the alt could have a slightly smaller belt and move in the right direction a bit. But it's already pretty close to the block. The fan on the other hand just barely cleared. And the lip removed might double the clearance. ...

Re: KKS Aluminum Radiators - Anyone Tried them?

Well I liked the look of the tanks and took a chance. Nice looking rad. But it did not fit at all like the stock one. The brackets are flush with the rad so it doesn't fit against the rad support. Maybe if I removed the little lip or turned it towards the front. Too thick, maybe if the lip was remov...

Re: New glass

My son got one of the summit front windscreens. It was not cheap. He wasn't home when it was dropped off and didn't look at it for 4 months, untill I went to install it. It was poorly packaged and was chipped in one corner. No recourse at that late date. The rubber gasket covered most of it and ther...

Re: KKS Aluminum Radiators - Anyone Tried them?

I might be in the market for a rad as well. Sure would be nice if it fit like stock and I could use the fan shroud. I priced getting a stock one record 3 row $800 cdn. I'd like to feel safe running my 2.3 this summer. It's been 10 years off the road and I'm planning on a few road trips.

A quick look at the sellers profile points to Mexico. The taillights and side marker on a previous car also leaned that way. Nice looking cars if you can get past straight axel and j series engine.

Re: WTB l4 electronic matchbox distributor

I'm a creature of habit and have used the matchbox style for years. I have also use the one with the matchbox facing towards the exhaust manifold without problems
But try to avoid that one. I think I have found one. He will confirm this evening. Thanks for the response.

I've seen the curved one crack. Most likely due to the weight of the carbs. If you use it consider making a brace.

Re: Door Mounting and Alignment ???

I've seen bent or twisted door. While the hinges are bolted tight grab the back of the door and twist. First at the bottom and top of door panel. If you grab top of window it's easy to just bend the frame. If you get the panel fit right start on the window frame. If the frame is hitting the shell it...
