Re: Thanks for the ad!

Keep an eye out for my son's car in Airdrie. Light green 2 dr. Probably won't be out of its heated garage until spring. Welcome to the realm.

Re: With asap front brake hose in Calgary

Well too late now to worry about pad choice. It's portafeilds street pad r4s I think. The 7/8 the master went in and bleed smoothly. Will have time to test it tomorrow..id like to find a gravel road to check lock up skid marks. Then maybe a parking lot. Pedel feels much better in the shop. Poor Just...

Re: With asap front brake hose in Calgary

Were running portafields front and rear. Were hoping for dry on Sunday so we can toss the car a bit. Using neverseize on the adjusters helped. So at least when we're done everything will be adjusted and bleed with new dot 5 fluid. Were just waiting for the call that the 7/8 master has arrived.

Re: With asap front brake hose in Calgary

The pedal feels mushy and around the floor will grab. Is a 15/16 too large. I'm worried were waisting our time taking zkcars up on his one and finding it wrong. Maybe waiting for the 13/16 is the way to go. Were looking around town for the 7/8. With no luck.

Re: With asap front brake hose in Calgary

We just went out and tried to work on the rears. Adjusted them and tried to bleed. Started with the master. Had bleed the front ,or rearward resivior and it was fine. But when we went to do the rears or forward resiviour, the master wouldn't curculate right. So now I'm thinking replace the master. W...

Re: With asap front brake hose in Calgary

The brakes were stock 510 and pedal felt fine. There should have been no reason for air to get into the master. But I did bleed it and it was fine. I am at a bit of a loss. I rebuild the zx calipers as you can't buy rebuild ones. Can't see how I could have f that job up. New pistons and a seal. The ...

Re: With asap front brake hose in Calgary

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping a problem was a way to meet a local. Now I've got the.hose on and everything hooked up and bleed the pedal is very spongy. I think I am now looking for a 13/16 master to go with the zx calipers.

With asap front brake hose in Calgary

I'm in Calgary swapping struts on my son's 510. Need a front brake line. At this point used would be fine. We have an autocross on Sunday. No local parts places have one. Did find and ordered a zx one. Not sure how close they are. Thanks

Just sold a pair on Facebook for $325 usd including shipping. Might have been able to get a little more. But at that price it took a few days. I used the page Datsun 510 (68-73) parts for sale. https://m.facebook.com/groups/1421692238052095
Mine were nos in the box but still with the factory rubber.

Re: Door Mounting and Alignment ???

I will agree and forgot to mention tapping the threads on the holes and bolts is important. I probably take doors off and on many times throughout a restoration. You should be able to thread them in by hand. And as there is no adjustment from hinge to door you could set the door early in the job and...

Re: Door Mounting and Alignment ???

I don't know if there is a trick. If the fender is loose and easily unbolts, I take it off. It's just in the way. You make the door fit the rocker and quarter panel. I like to have the hinges off the door. Bolt them to the car high and forward. It's the rocker I don't want to chip. And with the fend...
