Re: WTB Wagon fuel cap

Just a heads up. The locking gas cap only works on a filler neck from a 68 or 69. I've modified a later neck and it was a pain and didn't turn out as well as I would have liked. Good luck with you search.

Re: Datsport 1/4 window glass to frame seal issues.

I know it doesn't help you but I had a hard time replacing used stock rubber. Lots of lube. I used dish soap.

Re: butters68 build

Can't help with info on a 2.2 crank in a l20b. But I do have a 2.2 short block here I'd sell. Its out of a car so not as desired as the truck block. The truck one can take the bigger overbore. Also not sure of condition. The safe bet is, it would need a bore and new pistons. I'd be happy with $200. ...

Re: 1972 510 2dr --STRESS RELIEF--

I think I know both of those. The silver jack.for sure. I've never seen a painted one in a 510. And the passenger door mirror was an option. And is a mirror image of the drivers. See what I did there. Lol so it's different. I always thought there must be a swap with an Australian. My driver's for th...

Re: Noob build

I'm in Qualicum and just about at the stage where I have to do something to the floors. Where did you buy the lizard skin and would you rent or sell the spray gun. Both seem a little expensive on Amazon. And how much did you use.
Thanks

Re: Brakes

I have the earliest north america 510 still alive and it has disc brakes. It is a deluxe with carpet so maybe early disc brakes were part of a factory upgrade package.

Re: OEM Nissan windshield/ back window seals part numbers?

Thanks Robin, I should have known that. I used there no trim gaskets on my last restoration. It was very nice. I have used the standard trim gaskets from them on a previous car The corners were not as tight holding the trim as I would have liked.

Re: OEM Nissan windshield/ back window seals part numbers?

Looks like the front 72610-A5500, is from 10/69 onward and would take the later trim. It superseded 72610-23100. I would love to find a 68 front seal. The rear also appears to be later. My catalogue doesn't give a superseded date but 79710-2100 replaced 79710-21002 I'd expect the earlier number is t...

Re: WTB: Datsun 510 Rear Door Handles

It's pretty easy to make new fronts work in the rear. Carefully grind out the pin holding the metal loop that hooks the latch. Then drill a hole, the right size in the right spot and install the pin and metal loop. You then have a nice new handle. Still available from Nissan.
