Re: Narrowing rear control arms

I thought the supply of rear trailing arm bushings were getting low..did start making them again? Unknown. I don't think they were ever out. LOTS of sellers just say that crap so they can charge a premium. LOTS more parts guys are lazy butts. I'm a non-lazy Nissan parts guy in Ca. and I've been at ...

Re: Narrowing rear control arms

Sam and I are going to make some narrowed rear control arms. We haven't nailed down a design yet, if anyone has any ideas they would like to share we are all ears. They are going to be 2" narrower per side. We want to retain the original control arm bushings and bolt pattern for the drum brake...

I have the Hella relays but on my wagon I'm running a pair of green factory Nissan relays without any troubles as well.

Re: Lowering rear of wagon

Yeah, that sounds reasonable, Okayfine. I'll probably simply block, cut snub bumpers in half and drive it to get, as you said, " a feel". I like that. Chad hasn't got back to me yet on whether or not he has had wheel interference, or bottoming out, or whatever else, with a load of some si...

Re: Lowering rear of wagon

Thanks guys... Okayfine, Chad, Qwik 510 So glad Chad you contributed to this thread on lowering the 510 Wagon most importantly because YOU DID IT! Just to hear your posted words I am more convinced then ever to spend the energy etc. to make this happen by de-arching. Just as a reminder; you had the...

Re: Lowering rear of wagon

Hi Chad - Concerning the lowering work you had done on the 510 wagon, do you know which leaf was added or the length of the added leaf which I suppose would tell where it was placed in the package. In hindsight because you mentioned 150 lbs. in the rear allows the wagon to ride better, would you do...

Re: Lowering rear of wagon

The second time around I didn't understand what you wrote here; "So I took them back off and he de-arched them more and flipped - what side of the leaf the eyelets were on and....." Please explain, 'what side ' means. The eyelets start from the factory on the top side of the leaf looking ...

Re: Happy 510 Day - A present? For you?!

DQ's been gone for over two years. DQ provided the detail between "Here's what I'm going to do" and "Here's what I've done" which is rarely found online, even here at The Realm. Has it been missed? I miss it. It was the only publication I actually subscribed to. I would again if...

Re: Lowering rear of wagon

Okayfine you're one of a few truly 510 helpfuls, so thank you once again. After the DQ reading you kindly forwarded to me, Chad Smith's version does seem the best way; de- arch the springs and adding an additional leaf. This way, I would hope, (and sounds like it would), lower and allow the wagon t...

Re: Stock 510 Brake Pedal Ratio

For what it is worth, when I did my rear disc setup, I put a 1 3/4" section into my brake pedal, thus increasing my pedal ratio. I did that for two reason's...first to make the leverage better, thus giving me a better "feel" for the brakes ( which it did big time ), and, it moved the...

Re: Steering Wheel Size

What is an optimal steering wheel size? I'm looking at two Nardi wheels, one is 330mm the other is 360mm. Just curious what everyone else uses. I like 350mm. I had a 320 and hated it. Felt too small. And hard to steer in my wagon. I'm no slouch I have plenty of arm strength. Not AHNALD arm strength...
