The only body style that I would not be interested in is a coupe. I would have no problem with a L series engine.
I would definantly look at the cars on Yahoo Japan. They have all the body styles with cool extra trim, different grills and awesome interior combos. Worth a look.

I want to know where you guys order JIS bolts? I hate how the hardware store bolts have a bigger then normal head.

Re: WTB 510 East Coast US

Dang 40K would get you a killer coupe out of Japan. Just saying, if your able to tolerate an L series might be an alternative option. It would for sure turn heads at any show. It's also fun to have a 510 that came with other dealer options. Like my coupe is a base model so L16 but drum front brakes!...

Re: Why Am I Getting Such Terrrible MPG?

Paul knows his carbs, are you sure on your numbers???? On our Specialty race car, set up for road racing, we got 12 MPG and that was at race speed. At that low of an MPG, I am amazed that it runs. as Mike suggests..check all those things. In my turbo motor, L20+ at full on 300 HP mode, I get about ...

Re: Do you guys have a switch on your clutch pedal ?

Yeah some 510s have them. My coupe doesn’t. Must have been a emission thing. It doesn’t have the brake pressure switch either.

Re: Jeff's '70 2 Door

HMM From the picture I wouls say the part that isn't touching the ruller doesn't touch the arm anyways. I've never seen any orginal 510 with them mounted from the bottom. I have worked on and parted out lots of old original 510's.

The new ball joint that I had would only mount flat on the botton of the control arm. Because of the thickness of the Futofab arm, this didn't leave enough clearance for the strut bolts.
Why would you want the ball joint mounted from the bottom?

Re: Fate of the Zombie today?

It was repaired. I attend the Electric car club in seattle from time to time. They gave him my email to try and help him find parts. Turns out the 1200 comunitty is pretty burnt out on him. So I wasn't able to get any parts for him. He did get if fixed. He normally has a driver and now I know why.

Re: Chocolate covered circus peanut

Been plugging away on the coupe. It's almost a driver. Still needs a little wiring, trans shifter cover, battery tie down and maybe a different brake master. Pedal travel is excessive. Seeing it sitting on the ground is awesome!! Here are some pics of the process. Taking out the frame so I can roll ...

Re: Transmission strength for SR20DET OR 300+ hp motors - options..?

The SR trans will last, my buddy runs one in his drag 510 which makes almost 500whp on E85 and hasn't broken it yet. He says the axles are the problem. He runs 11.7's on slicks in the quarter, with fuel cut at the top end. If you have the Z32 trans and adapter I don't see any reason to not go that ...

Re: "Hey" my daily driven race car!

I checked the diff clutch breakaway last night, its at about 50lbs. Seems fine. Could the clutches just be worn out? I've been testing and it seems to do 1 tire fire pretty easily. I'll swap the springs for the next event if it isn't raining. I like the idea of extra weight in the back for rain even...

Re: "Hey" my daily driven race car!

I mainly wanted to dyno this engine to see how much HP I will gain at the wheels after I install the turbo SR I have and how much different the times will be. To be honest 126WHP is getting kinda boring. I had a bunch of ride alongs so this event my times were kinda everywhere. The previous event fr...
