Re: JDM Legends

I watched it last night, I think it kinda sucked. I understand it's the first one of the series, but they seem like a few guys that are turning a hobby into a car building biz, not that that is a bad thing, I just hope they get better at it. They show a few clips of one guy trying to TIG a patch ar...

Re: Swamp thing, from drift car to Endure car

The engine was machined by a great shop in Seattle. Balanced and everything. My buddy assembled the bottom end and we put the rest together. I'm not sure what or why it let go. We set the rev limiter to 7500, maybe to high? I built a bitchen pan with doors and baffles. Shouldn't have oil staved. Me ...

Re: Swamp thing, from drift car to Endure car

So fun!!! Well until our L20 blew up :( It lasted 3.5 hours. The car handled amazing! It could out corner any car there and it didn't even have front our rear sway bars. We ran out of time.... Our final alignment specs: front toe: zero front caster: 8.5 degrees front camber 8 degrees rear toe 1/4&qu...

Re: 15x6.5 +15 or 15x7 0 offset?

225 45 15 under a stock fender that is lightly rolled. I'm amazed it fit so well. Wish the PO circle track guys wouldn't have cut off the rear arches.

Re: 2.3L of fun

I have the zx transmission now. It has the gears below with .745 overdrive and I love it. At 8000 in 4th with my 4.44 gears I am doing 197kmph...yes it lays down in 5th but I don't need to go much faster. I will take the lower rpm on the highway and just have to be on the ball and downshift early w...

Re: 2.3L of fun

I did have a transmission once with that .759, hated it for racing ( hillclimbs) Even with 20" tall race tires and the revs up there, when I would go to 5th at the hillclimb, the car just laid down, felt like a wet dish rag. That 5th gear set up is only if you really want and can pull some top...

Re: 2.3L of fun

Wow your gear ratio's are my stock gears, besides first. This chart refers to a SR20DET I have the DE trans which the only difference is 5th gear is .85x If you ever have an issue it will be easy to find another trans with the same gear set. SPECIFICATIONS: Included: 5 gears kit and Strengthened Mai...

Re: 2.3L of fun

What are the your gear ratio's Keith? They make close ratio gear sets for the SR trans which is pretty easy to adapt to an L series motor. I looked into the ratio's. Not much improvement in my mind on our track layout. They look to be made more for road racing.

Re: "Hey" my daily driven race car!

205 50's on the zero offset wheels. If I had zx struts they would fit perfect. Which I do out in my shed. The back is the issue. Me and Sam have just been super busy with our racecar project and redesigning the front stuff. Soon it will get some sweet rear suspension.

Re: Diff swap: STI R160 LSD 4.44 Suretrac

Way back in the day a local guy said he was able to open up a subi R160 LSD and add the bolt retainers. It's been years and I can't remember which diff it was. Maybe that one? I've pulled the threaded, splined cap out before and put them in later K R180's.

Re: "Hey" my daily driven race car!

Where is the clunk coming from? I had a bad shock bushing once, that you could not see, but, on a good bump it thumped. Clunk is unfindable! I got some axles rebuilt, hopefully that solves the issue. I jacked it up twice over the weekend. I can pry the control arm around with my pry bar but not eas...
