Re: wipe your face gas cars!

That's body shops that take forever to do repairs not the repair centers, aluminum body has its drawbacks I guess. My brother works at the Seattle repair center, they normally get the cars in and out really fast. My brother's team almost beat the motor swap record when they went in for training. The...

So the clear answer is Turbo KA!

I feel the opposite. The clear answer is SR :)

Re: 1971 2 Door, L16 --> 2.1 Long Rod --> SR20VE

Andy at Specialty uses a torque plate for all our engines. It's mimicking the head bolt distortion, upon boring, keeps those cylinders nice and round and hence good piston ring seal. Does he put a used headgasket in between the block and torque plate? If you want to recreate the same forces that th...

So aren't the K housing R180's in the 80's 200sx? The STI K R180 just has a different spline count right?

Torque plate seems like seems like a gimmick to me. Such a simple parts for a ton of money. Wish I would have thought of it!

PoorMtnKid wrote:Jeff, how would having Byron's brackets affect the use of your system?

We will know more when the prototypes are done. I have Byron's brackets in my car. Raising the pivot should help with anti-squat but gotta check and see what it does to toe change.

Re: Narrowing rear control arms

It's obvious you guys are much smarter than me. I'm just trying to look at things from my limited perspective in hopes that it helps in some way with what you guys are doing. :D Looking at your design, have you considered what rear bearing housing you're going to use? Maybe you can just steal it fr...

Re: "Hey" my daily driven race car!

Ditch the KA for a SR20VE Duke!! A buddy of mine road raced a sentra. He said the VE's will spin 9k all day stock! That and the P11 stock ports flowed better then the S13 head he had professionally ported. You will loose 50lbs getting rid of the cast iron KA block. That's what I'm going to do next. ...

Re: "Hey" my daily driven race car!

HAHA You guys can use my thread for racecar talk anytime! Duke you should do it! I had 3.7's before and its so much better on the low speed corners I'm almost 2 seconds faster then a guy that used to be about the same speed as me and I feel I can improve on that. I am worried about dry days on our h...

Re: "Hey" my daily driven race car!

Yeah I agree Keith it would defiantly we helpful so I'm going to start one the next race. The shocks were an AAAHHH moment! So was the 4.44's! Even in the rain I could tell they were way better. The seat helped a ton too. The cams though.... They killed a few races that's for sure! They made the top...

Re: "Hey" my daily driven race car!

At the event on Sunday the weather was terrible. I was to lazy to get out and even check my tire preasures. I almost did during the last 4 runs (we get 3 sets of 4 laps) but decided against it. I did however decide to change my lines and do zero trail braking which works great for me on a few corner...

Re: Vg33 wiring

I can't say for sure but I don't think it will work. Of coarse I can't remember for sure but I was at a buddies legit shop, he was working on a customers van (can't remember which one, but not a nissan) with a VG and it won't run with the crank sensor unplugged. So unless you plan on added sensor it...

Re: LSD Break Away Touque...??

Byron!!! Well I haven't checked the breakaway torque on the R190 I installed yet but it did great on the track in the rain so I'm not in a hurry to adjust anything. I was wondering how does the LSD breakaway work exactly? We put a H165 LSD in Sam's wagon, it didn't seem to work so we swapped in the ...

Re: "Hey" my daily driven race car!

As you all maybe have noticed, I'm old school the other way, I love to flip through pages and see the progression ( or regression) of changes and results. You can almost smell the old Castrol bean oil and DS11 brake dust back then. No matter HOW you do it, the documentation is the key...and the old...
