Re: Air Conditioning for 72 4 dr. w/vg30?

Like anything in a 510 it's an exercise in packaging. I made brackets that mount the underdash unit to the original heater firewall holes, and two that tie it into the lower dash rail. Custom center vent. Condenser barely fits behind the grille, with plumbing snaked thru the horn opening. I added th...

Re: Air Conditioning for 72 4 dr. w/vg30?

I'm running the Vintage Air Compac under the dash. Used the smallest Sanden SD7B10 compressor. AC, heat and defrost. Plumbed into the original dash vents. Made an adapter plate for the original heater control location to accept the VA electronic controls. Makes the car much more livable on roadtrip ...

Billet 510 Mustache bars R160/R180 w/bushings $249+ship

I have a few of these R160/R180 510 Mustache bars available if anyone is interested. Been running one on my car for the past year, had a request to make another, and made a few extras. Duke,
I run the 4.44 JDM Subaru Sti gears. Definitely pricey but has served me well so far.

Sorry, no interest in making any from stainless. Machining stainless is a whole different game than the aluminum.

EPDM rubber tubing from mcmaster carr. Mine are designed for the 6mm diameter, not sure what diameter might be best on stock vents.

Re: Billet exterior c-Pillar vents in the works

Just wanted to update everyone that was interested. The vents are now for sale. Intro pricing $400 machined finish (straight out of the machine) no polishing. Parts look great, some minor irregularities in the surfacing from using a scan model but not noticable once on a car. Includes gasket and mou...

I added 1/4-20 studs on the backside matching the 70-73 hole pattern. Bad news is I haven't had much luck on speeding up the machining on these. It's looki...

Re: Billet exterior c-Pillar vents in the works

Thanks for the interest everyone. No idea on the pricing yet. I'm just excited to have a real prototype in my hands. I'm thinking the smooth(68-69)/hidden fastener version is what most people would want, so that's the priority currently. Definitely a tricky part to make and hold in the machine, all ...

Billet exterior c-Pillar vents in the works

Hey guys, thought I'd share what I've been working on lately. I've had a nice set of rechromed 68 pot metal vents laying around for years, studs broken but super straight and clean. Recently I had a guy 3d scan the nicest one with a faro laser scanner. Basically digitizing the part with an accuracy ...

Re: Ecotec 510

I wonder how well your items would hold up to some off-road use? I am considering redesigning a front spindle setup for my 1200 Coupe and was considering aluminium for the job. Have you done an FEA on your items? I did some crude FEA on them, didn't model the wheel bearings, which stiffen the knuck...
