Re: 510 wagon in san diego junk yard
Went there yesterday and saw it for my own eyes. Body is surprisingly decent, minus the fenders. It's a stock L4 block. It didn't cross my mind to see the head designation number, but the valve cover was still there, minus the valve cover bolts. I was actually on a mission to see if I could find som...

Re: New Seat Covers - who makes them?
I found two resources that I hope can be useful (keep in mind I can't vouch for either). www.clazzio.com leatherseats.com For what it's worth, I have been looking into the possibility of possibly the Audi or BMW leather seats(before they had the motor) in a 510 but I'm still doing more research and ...

Re: Need Rubber
I have heard bicycle inner tube rubber may work if you want to DIY. I would be worried trying to find an inner tube wide enough.

Re: US Datsun with SSS emblems?
One Datsun buddy told me that there was an SSS trim that was available in North America but I can't seem to find any info or specs to back that up.
Another theory from a Datsun owner & friend of mine said that car dealers were always doing quirky things to make sales back then.

US Datsun with SSS emblems?
Hey all. I'm still a newb but I'm still in the constant search for the history of my car and I'm just curious about the SSS emblems that came on my car. I keep reading that there was no SSS 510 that was sold here on US soil. My dad is the second owner of the car since 1975 and he never put any emble...

Re: DatsunDave09's New Start/Stop Ignition system for Datsun
@ DatsunDave09 just curious if you can post any pics of the Datsuns you owned or that you own now. The start stop button sounds like a pretty cool idea btw.
Just low on funds right now. =(

Re: Gas tank pvc
Thanks for the link. Very informative. Where does regular rubber hoses fall under and has anyone simply snaked a rubber hose to the gas tank?? I guess I should have asked this question first but I can't seem find an OEM gas tank elbow pipe anywhere online for my 510 sedan. Any info would be helpful.

Re: Eyebrow trim/fender restoration
Insurance type body shops don't have those tools for a reason, they don't need them, it's more cost effective for them to replace body panels than reshape them. The time they save makes them more money. These parts are readily available for newer cars, so why would they beat out a panel if they can...

Re: new member; datsun passion
Instead of craigslist you might try searching large areas of the US at one time by using crazedlist.org. It only runs on firefox though. I can't get it to work on google chrome or Internet explorer. I think there is another site that does multiple craigslist searches too but I dont know what they ar...

Re: Eyebrow trim/fender restoration
This truly is the walk of a Jedi Master. ....this is good stuff. It's funny that most "body shops" don't even have shapers, rollers, sanders, welding equipment, stampers, and real tools of the trade. I was an auto detailer for a insurance claim "body shop" and they simply bought ...

Welcome, and this really is a nice present. Are you going with the bubble flares or is that what the car came with?
