Re: New swap-4G63T

If I remember right, didn't Datsun Comp sell a water/oil cooler back in the day? Looking at those Summit coolers that Byron linked, they appear to be pretty small size wise, easy to mount.

Byron,
If you ever get to Vegas, stop by and see Peter's place, it has some great pictures from back in the day and stuff to purchase. Plus get him to give you a tour of the trailer plant, it's up your alley.

Re: Noobie's 510 project

As Byron stated, Loctite bearing retaining compound is the right stuff, a quick look at the Loctite catalog will get you the right bearing retainer stuff, they have different grades depending on what clearances you are dealing with. You will probably need to get it from a industrial supplier, such a...

Re: Pilkington Windshields - Easy and new Availability

This is really cool, since Summit's west coast warehouse is here in Reno/Sparks and they have 10% off in August.

Re: JDM Legends

They differently need some schooling on TIg welding thin metal, their welder ( looks like a older Miller Syncowave in the one camera shot), has the capability of pulse which they should of used welding thin sheet metal. I think that they are a jack of all trades and a master of none. I am glad that ...

Re: Availability of quality main and rod bearings

Does Nissan have bearings anymore ? I have always used OEM. There has been some misprints in the Tom Moore book, maybe this is another one.

Very nice! If these start selling in some numbers, have thought about having them cast?

Re: Suspension and brake questions, I searched

Looking to the future, I wonder how long the 280zx calipers and rebuild kits are going to be available. I think that moving to a current made caliper is a good idea (wilwood, etc). For brake pads, my go to are Porterfield r4s, which are available for the wilwood.

Michael,
As usual top notch work. Of coarse I wouldn't expect anything less from you. Sorry I missed running into you at SEMA.

Re: SEMA 2017

The wagon was pretty bad, didn't have a rear bumper, mounting holes not even filled. I would have been ashamed to show in it at the local cars and coffee. Troy's built 510 was a lot nicer, I am sure there was some sleepless nights on that car to get it done in five weeks, but it did look nice. One c...

Re: How much does it weigh?

Is the flywheel on the VQ the factory dual mass one? If it is, it is very heavy, a Jim Wolf one is very light.

Re: SEMA 2017

Good show this year, lots of Datsuns compared to previous years and a lot of them in the main show area, not in the shadows. Datsun's where the most popular marque of the Japanese at the show. Did notice that some of them seemed to be thrown together with not enough build time.

SEMA 2017

I am really looking forward to this years SEMA, at least two 510's will be there, the 2dr one that Troy Emish finished in five weeks and the Chris Forberg's wagon; https://youtu.be/gUh_ZD9IHUY Also M2 should be showing some of their die casts and rumor has it that Pete Brock's Datzilla will be on di...
