Looking good! That Maguire's Ultimate Compound is the bomb when it comes to old paint. I used it in the 620's bed, looks like new!

I haven't lately , been super busy servicing other people's vintage Hi-Fi( my old job). I have also been doing some machining and also a little TIG welding. Got get back onto the wagon too, but I still have that FJ-40 that in my way.

If I remember right, didn't Datsun Comp sell a water/oil cooler back in the day? Looking at those Summit coolers that Byron linked, they appear to be pretty small size wise, easy to mount.

As Byron stated, Loctite bearing retaining compound is the right stuff, a quick look at the Loctite catalog will get you the right bearing retainer stuff, they have different grades depending on what clearances you are dealing with. They differently need some schooling on TIg welding thin metal, their welder ( looks like a older Miller Syncowave in the one camera shot), has the capability of pulse which they should of used welding thin sheet metal. Looks like Summit Racing in the States carries King Bearings , the AM series are listed. Baz What series do you use?

Does Nissan have bearings anymore ? I have always used OEM. There has been some misprints in the Tom Moore book, maybe this is another one.

Looking to the future, I wonder how long the 280zx calipers and rebuild kits are going to be available. I think that moving to a current made caliper is a good idea (wilwood, etc). For brake pads, my go to are Porterfield r4s, which are available for the wilwood.
