WTB-- small piece of stock white headliner material

My car's stock headliner is in great shape except for the driver's-side A pillar. Now that the shell is stripped down for paint, with the windshield out, I want to replace that section. Does anybody have a piece of the stock white vinyl headliner, big enough to use on that A-pillar? I don't have acc...

I've got one too, in Edmonton Alberta, if you haven't made arrangements yet.

Re: With asap front brake hose in Calgary

I'm jumping in late on this, and I don't have the reference handy, but I know I read someplace that it's wise to replace the stock 510 rear wheel cylinders with those from a Datsun 1200 when you do the 280 ZX front brake swap. The cylinders from the 1200 are 11/16 diameter, which-- because it's a sm...

Re: Tail Light Protection

If you're fishing for interest (or since you are), yes I'll certainly be following this as closely as I can. I too have some iffy or marginal tail-light housings, same issue with crumbling plastic. Seems to me your idea of attempting to somehow "permeate" the material with some sort of epoxy ...

Re: Muffler selection. Magic solution needed.

I'm running a 2" pipe with no resonator and a Magnaflow muffler on my L20B with SU's, and find this combination really nice. It probably has a little more steady-state noise than if I were running a resonator, but I think the smaller pipe offsets that somewhat. Just a bit of deeply mellow whoosh whe...

Re: Aftermarket Engine Mounts - CRAP

Hi Jim; I had exactly the same experience with exactly the same crappy parts, a year ago. I couldn't believe RockAuto sold these things for the 510, they're so incredibly out-of-spec. What the...? As Michael suggests, I ended up ordering the genuine ones from Nissan and of course they fit perfectly....

Re: Knox Mountain Cruise 2017

Just in case you haven't already read enough-- and seen enough pictures-- here's a quick "PS" on top of everyone else's accounts. If you live within reasonable range of Kelowna BC and haven't been to Knox, you ought to consider putting it on your bucket list to do so. This was my first time there, a...

Re: Knox Mountain Cruise 2017

Great plan Keith (& others). I'm also grey haired and-- according to our sons at least-- in the "old fart" category. There are certain circumstances under which I'd dispute that... but it's becoming more true all the time. Saturday it is then! I told Brenda about the offer to hike up and putter our ...

Re: Knox Mountain Cruise 2017

Hey Keith, thanks for the detailed info. Should be easy for us to meet, since you're willing to hang around for a while in an obvious spot. I'll make sure I wear a Datsun T-shirt to make things a little easier on your end! :D Looks to me like you're planning to head up on Saturday morning then, righ...

Re: Knox Mountain Cruise 2017

I'll be heading down this Friday from Edmonton with my wife-- but sadly not in our 510. It's not ready for a long trip yet. Even so I'm really looking forward to meeting whatever Datsun folks can make it. Knox has been on my list for a long time and lots of stuff had to be juggled to make it finally...

Re: Copper nickel for fuel lines.

This a good thread about cunifer lines too-- mostly discussing brake lines. http://the510realm.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=26600&hilit=cunifer Honestly though since this stuff works great for hydraulics, fuel is a total non-issue. Extremely low pressure compared to brake lines, and pretty much the same...

Re: WTB - 2 x Rear Defrost Knob/switch

Hi Dave; I've got 2 of these switches available but unfortunately both of them are missing part of the outermost trim-- the black ring that surrounds the blue centre section. Here's what they look like (both are the same). IMG_9534 comp.jpg I have no idea what happened to those rings; they were both...
