Re: Bert Vorgon's Spring Maintenance Project

What SAE spec of fuel hose are you using? Should be at least 30R9. There are new spec fuel injection hoses that have much greater resistance to ethanol and other additive than the old specs. 30R14 is much better. Gates Barricade line is one of the new formulations. May be time to upgrade to some new...

Keith's car on FutoFab

Hey Keith. Is this your car on FutoFab's FB page? https://www.facebook.com/FutoFab/?hc_ref=NEWSFEED&fref=nf https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/17807357_774050889420046_1991925407575014900_o.png?oh=753292ff0bd9aa9cf086f34a6c9e396c&oe=599B2493

Re: Bert Vorgon's Spring Maintenance Project

I imagine there are. Places like Snow Performance, Cooling Mist, Nitrous Express and Devils Own. Snow has a new SS solenoid out. Don't know how this compares in price to what Keith gets. On the outside, looks a lot like what Keith uses. https://www.snowperformance.net/Water-Methanol-Injection-Soleno...

Re: 2.3L of fun

Earplugs?? LOL. Rattling of tranny gears is common if you have a Lightweight Flywheel. Not much you can do about that. Unfortunately the best shifting oils also tend to be the lighter ones, such as Redline MT and the AC Delco/GM Friction Modified stuff. Whining can often be bearings. It doesn't take...

Re: 2.3L of fun

Is that in reference to the drainage ditches that run across the roads in LA.. or just the Low-Rider stance? Maybe that's how the droopy arse started in Cali?

Re: Shadbolt M445 lift specs.

I'm just trying to help another member out on a different forum. He has just bought a used head that includes an M445. Since I'm not going to be purchasing any product, I don't really feel comfortable wasting the Vendors valuable time. Thought there were enough old farts lurking about here that some...

Re: Shadbolt M445 lift specs.

With FT pistons on L-serie's, are valve reliefs necessary with the M445 cam? . It's been so long that I can't remember if I had valve reliefs on my L24 with Flat Tops. I'm thinking I didn't. Question is for member on another Forum who is building an L-28 with Flat Tops and an M445 Cam. Ironically, M...

Shadbolt M445 lift specs.

Scratching my head here and may need some input from old timers. When I was running Shadbolt M445 cams back in the late 70's to early 80's, I swear the valve lift was under .500". ( .480" to be exact ). Now I'm finding info from here that M445 grinds from 2003 ( Merlin's Post ) have the Ca...

Re: NVH Issues

Could very well be pinion angle. A small amount of mismatch can cause a substantial amount of vibration. You may have to shim your diff and the transmission to get the angles correct. Even with IRS, there will be some upwards rotation of the pinion nose when accelerating. Poly bushings will reduce t...

Re: Del-A-Lum LCA bushings

Just got off the phone with Byron. He mentioned that Delrin LCA bushes in a LCA that uses Tension Rods for fore and aft location, is not a good idea. The front LCA's travel in an Arc fore and aft with suspension vertical movement because of the Tension Rods . This causes binding with Delrin bushings...

Del-A-Lum LCA bushings

Does anyone know who makes Del-A-Lum LCA bushings for Datsun front LCA's. Specifically 240Z-280Z? Not looking for Poly and not looking for Mono-Ball. Specifically want the Del-A-lum style. Any local fabricators ( Byron ) make them? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/Monobloc/89%20GTA/Suspension/...

Re: BACK TO MY NISSAN ROOTS

If the Cities and Province want us to support these low lifes with our Taxes ( and we already do ) , then maybe the Cities should pay our Insurance deductibles. Send the city or Province the bill for their incompetence in dealing with these issues over the last 40+ years.

Re: Improving crash safety without a cage

Here's a tip for your lighting system. Replace all the side marker lights and Tail lights with LED bullbs. Not only are they brighter, but they draw substantially less power than regular bulbs. Reduces the load on your alternator and they also last longer. I bought all of my LEDS from an online stor...
