Re: Quarter Window Latch

It looks to me like you have the mounting plate of the latch attached to the outside of the body mount. I have mine attached on the inside and never have had any issues with them. I use mine every day when its warm out.

Re: #4G63510 Brakes

I second the Porterfeild advice. I have run the R4S pads for years and have been happy with them the whole time. Never experienced any fade in all of the autocrosses and hillclimbs that I have done.

Re: #4G63510 Suspension

Tires, tires, tires! I got a set of wheels a while back that had some generic tires on them and I was amazed by how much they affected the handling of my car. My car on the usual 200TW tires I run is very neutral and predictable. On the generic tires I experienced excessive understeer to snap overst...

Re: 2.3L of fun

Good job getting that sorted. I think we are all guilty of putting off things like proper alignment or engine tuning in lieu of bolting on a fancy new part, but its the things like this that turn a decent handling or running car into an amazing car! There are so many things that I have put off over ...

Re: Weber tuning Ka stuff

My input as far as carb tuning goes is to invest in a Wideband O2 sensor. I screwed around with the side draft Mikuni's on my dual cam KA for YEARS before installing a wideband. While the colortune lets you know what is going on at idle, you have no idea what is happening under actual driving condit...

Re: Mikuni Rebuild Schedule?

If nothing is leaking, I'm not sure what the purpose of a full rebuild would be. A good cleaning of the jets may be needed, but I don't think a full rebuild would be necessary. Do you have a wideband O2 sensor? I find mine invaluable in figuring out what the carbs are doing and what they need. Also,...

Re: 510 chassis/subframe upgrades to compensate for added hp

When I cleaned up my engine bay/front suspension I found some cracks in the frame rails where they attach to the firewall. I attribute this to running stiff suspension and sticky tires for many years. To alleviate this I built some gussets for this area. I'm not sure if there would be enough clearan...

Re: 2018 SCCA Runoffs..Run to the Championship

I was gone camping and climbing over the weekend and was looking forward to opening this thread and reading the results. You guys didn't disappoint! Congratulations Collin! Wish I could have seen it in person. I'm really looking forward to watching the replay!

Re: 2018 SCCA Runoffs..Run to the Championship

It was great to meet you today Keith! I was hoping to catch up with you guys after qualifying, but with how late everything was running, I had to take off. I was up at turn 4 during the GT3 session and could really tell that Collin was really hustling the car! Best of luck for the race!

Re: 2018 SCCA Runoffs..Run to the Championship

I'm about 35-45 minutes from Sears Point depending on traffic. I'm going to plan on taking a half day on Thursday and hopefully being able to catch some of the qualifying!

Re: 2018 SCCA Runoffs..Run to the Championship

I might be traveling on the weekend, but I would really like to make it down there for at least a half day during the week. It would be great to meet you in person Keith (maybe get some more of your speed secrets out!) and be able to watch some of the qualifying action.

Very interested in the door panels. Haven't heard back from the PM that I sent. Are they still available?

Re: Carburator Jet Box Storage ideas

I have used those clear plastic boxes with individual adjustable dividers for everything from carburetor jets to TIG welding supplies. They come in a bunch of different sizes and the compartments can be made to whatever size you want by moving the dividers.
