Re: i need help identify a transmission

Makes sense. What little I know comes from two guys I've talked with that are in Norway. The 71B is built to handle a six cylinder so plenty strong for a four. The one I have right now I found in a metal scrap yard. The car had bee crushed by an excavator and it was weeks before I noticed it was som...

Re: Need help identifying parts

I can try when I get home tonight. If it is used in some other Nissan application like on another vehicle I can list this also.

Re: Mesh for Headlight deletes

Metal fly screen from Home Hardware. But it will plug up just like the clothes dryer. Keep the headlights, you need them more. Put air filters on and call it good. If you have air filters what do you need a screen for.

Re: i need help identify a transmission

I still say it's an '80 or newer transmission because it has a reverse check sleeve on the tail shaft. My info is iffy on European models so take this with a grain of salt... It may have been in a 180B ...this is the European equivalent of our L24 powered inline six 810 here, but shorter as it only ...

Re: i need help identify a transmission

It's an L series FS5W71B made after '79. That narrows it down to '80-'83 280zx, '80 720, '80 810 or '81-'84 Maxima. The trans mount narrows it down to Maxima or 720, the zx was totally different. The single reverse light switch narrows it down to n 810 or Maxima. The 720 had multiple switches for em...

Re: WTB Release Bearing Holder for 4spd transmission

You will need a pilot bushing in the end of the crankshaft and the automatic spacer plate between the crank and the flexplate removed before the flywheel goes on.

Re: WTB Release Bearing Holder for 4spd transmission

By generic clutch, I mean one the will fit a wide variety of makes and engines. This could have any diaphragm finger height and certainly won't fit an L16. To make this' one size fits all' pressure plate work, the correct collar is included with the kit. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/image...

Re: WTB Release Bearing Holder for 4spd transmission

The OP was asking about the stock 510 and 4 speed. That would be 30501-N1601 for the release collar. I did say that a generic clutch supplier usually includes the correct collar. Why would they sell you a clutch for a 510 that doesn't fit the stock collar? The chart would be helpful if you ran a 200...

Re: WTB Release Bearing Holder for 4spd transmission

Try the Nissan dealer. You never know.

Go to Google, hit Images, type in " chart of datsun 200mm release bearing collars " there is a chart at top of page. Because Photofuckit is being a douche I can't post it, but you can still see it there.

Can see less than ten miles out here. Sun rises red turns orange. Sun is so filtered it doesn't feel as hot on the skin. Haven't seen the mainland for over a week.

Re: WTB: Z20E 152.5mm rods

Long rod Z22s are 149.5mm and exclusively found on the S110 200sx from Jan. '82 and on, till the end of the S110 production. The Nissan part number for the 1mm oversize (late) piston is... 12010-D8103 Looks like the rings fit either early or late Z22 piston so 1mm oversize Z22 rings are 12038-06W20 ...

Re: WTB Release Bearing Holder for 4spd transmission

I think there are subsets within those even.

The part number for the 510 release bearing collar using the stock L16 and clutch is, 30501-N1601. Often after market clutches are generic not an exact match, so a collar is included.

No such animal without custom pistons with about a 30mm pin height and 87mm bore.

152.5mm rods are found on all Z20E or Z20S engines...

'80-'82 HL510 in the States or the '81-'82 HL510 in Canada
'80-'81 S110 200sx
'84-'86.5 720 with the mileage option Z20S engine.
