Re: Is this ok price for a 510 4dr?

While possible, a one owner is very rare. Service documents would really help here as a provenance. No rust is also very rare and subjective... there is always some rust somewhere if you look. Was it repainted? maybe repaired at some time? 100% stock is also very rare as some things can't easily be ...

Re: WTB Z20E Rods 152.5mm

Byron I doubt the Mileage option was available here. I have a feeling it was a Federal only package in the States. I've never seen one up here. I parted an '80 L20B 4x4 years ago. I have had 2 S110s (an '80 and an '81) that I parted out. Sold one set of rods into the States and Jason Wong took the o...

Re: WTB Z20E Rods 152.5mm

In the US the '80-'81 A10 (HL510) the '80-'81 S10 (2nd gen 200sx) and the '83-'86.5 720 with the Mileage option Z20 engine, all have the 152.5mm (6") rods in them. The part number is 12100-N8500

Re: Photobucket trying to blackmail me.

Never!!! I've never looked back. Now all old pictures are marred with "Proudly hosted on photobucket"??? really? May they all fall into Dante's 9th circles of hell... alternating between the 4th circle for Greed ... https://historylists.org/images/greed.jpg and the 9th for Betrayal. https://historyl...

Re: Help to find an L20B flywheel in Europe

All six cylinder and 4 cylinder 2 liters and more are 6 bolt mount to the crankshaft and will interchange. They were drilled to accept either a 200mm 225mm or a 240mm pressure plate. 6 bolt flywheels can weigh either 29 or 21 pounds. So if you have a 225mm 29 pound wheel it will weigh more than a 24...

Re: SR20DET Oil Pump Priming

Assuming the oil pump works, push oil back through the pump instead of air. That will fill it and the pick up tube.

Re: questions on a 32/36 install

That hose connects to the flow guide valve mounted low on the strut tower it's pointing at. The flow guide valve does several things depending if the engine is running or not. When off, it allows evaporated gas from the tank (under very slight positive pressure) into the engine crank case for storag...

http://clunkbucket.com/wp-content/gallery/1973-datsun-510/datsun_510_slots2.jpg The block vent should be connected to the PCV valve in the intake as shown in the picture. The valve cover vent should go to the air filter housing. I hate when people fuck with this beautifully simple and benign system...

Re: Stock 240sx distributor housing

It's called a crank angle sensor (CAS) and needs the ECU and sensors to set the spark and correct advance. It might be useful if going to something like a Mega Jolt system.

Re: "83 280ZX close ratio box and 3:90 differential

Not everyone who has a Datsun has a 'true' close ratio box, would even know about them, where to find one, could afford one, and if they did they probably wouldn't like them anyway for their predominantly street driven cars. The 'close ratio' box is simply too esoteric for a street car. So that leav...

Re: "83 280ZX close ratio box and 3:90 differential

To confirm you do have the close ratio box, mark the input and output splines, place in first and turn the input spline 20 full turns while someone counts the output turns. (I use an old clutch disc) 20 divided by 3.062 (1st gear ratio) should be 6.5 output turns. A mid ratio is 6.0 turns, a wide ra...

Re: Need camshaft identification

U67 is an L20B head but could have an L16 cam swapped in. If an L20B cam it will have these square bumps cast in... https://i.imgur.com/mAcMb0w.jpg I have a used Isky cam (I assume reground) with a calculated .480 lift (although it is stamped .490) for a U-67 head I want to 'build'. It seems to work...
