Re: WTB L-16 Lower Alternator mount

Imagine sitting in a stool with two legs. It tends to rock around a line drawn through where the two legs touch the ground. The L16 alternator mount is the same way. I know all L20B (and maybe the L18?) Have three bolts. A tripod is the most stable stool there is..

Re: 1974 Datsun 620 With A Twist

Spare open chamber head is good. No good for an L16 but will work on an L20B in a pinch. Hang onto that 4 speed as a spare if your new trans ever needs work. The L18 pistons (if in good shape) will fit an L20B an give 9.27 compression. L18 crank and rods can be fitted to an L16 making it an L17. Nev...

Re: Photobucket trying to blackmail me.

All mine display the above message. They say I have only used about 22% of my allotted storage space. I won't close my account, that would be giving in and making it easy for them. What arrogant assholes! All my pictures are saved on my computer so they don't totally own me.

Re: Milage for Duffy lake run

Have run Lillooet/Pemberton twice this year and once the other way. Including once in my 710. Gotta say it's my favorite section of highway on my 1.500 mile Canby road trip this year. I always try to include it.

Photobucket trying to blackmail me.

Unless I pay $400 all of my PB pictures used here or elsewhere are no longer view able. Besides the incredibly shitty service and constant changes, lengthy waits and impossibly hard navigation through the site, they want me to pay????? What the fuck? I sent them feedback through e mail and told them...

Re: Instrument panel voltage regulator

I think the regulator in the gauge cluster itself. Trouble shoot first before tearing the dash apart. As the regulator works both gauges, if one is working.... it's not the regulator. If you ground the sender wire for the temp gauge the gauge will read full scale hot. Grounding the sender in the gas...

Re: Hello, I'm new. 1969 521 in San Diego

There's a large 521 following over on http://community.ratsun.net/forum/44-521/ including front disc brake conversions by Mklotz70 and BEEBANI. You can even ditch the king pins for custom ball joints. I think there is a coil spring conversion to get rid of the torsion bars.... something that would m...

Re: Speedometer problem

The trip odometer is mechanically connected to the car odometer and can be zeroed. The transmission drive cable is not directly coupled to the needle. The cable spins a magnet inside a cup with the needle attached. (somewhat like rear brake shoes inside the brake drum) The cup has a return to zero c...

Confirmed... L20B, probably a '79/'80 by the look of it. Look on block behind dip stick handle for the stamped letters. For head ID look along bottom edge of head between first and second spark plugs... MADE IN JAPAN W58 I bet

Re: Doing a big bore 2.3L compression ratio help.

I don't like the Ozdat 'computerÈ for just that reason. It argues with you. I do my own thing. KA24DE piston dish is, I believe 9cc, so if it isn't, then this is all for nought. Z22 crank/rods, 89mm bore, 47cc DE pistons, 41cc closed chamber head.... 9.52 compression Why DE pistons??? The above with...

Re: Ignition coil

Get an EI coil. They don't wear out from age. If it's still working... it's working. Just paint it red or yellow. I'm a strong believer in the stock matched equipment.

Re: Will a 77 200sx steering wheel swap to A10?

I believe the splines are the same. The fit may not be exact. For example I has a zx wheel on my 620. Had to extend the roll pins that cancel the turn signal and bend the brass contact up to touch the ring so the horn would work. There was a half inch gap between the bottom of the wheel and the clam...
