Re: Availability of quality main and rod bearings

Mains... L16 / 18 are the same. L20B / Z20 / Z22 / Z24 are the same. KA same diameter but vastly different width.
Rods.... all the same including KA.

Re: Datsun 210 added to my collection

Still a great car. I had a '76 B-210 new and loved it till Ontario salt washed it away. Some 210s had an A 1500 engine and there were two 5 speeds.

Re: 620s addition to my collection

Ah just found the post about the truck. The bed seam continued into the 720s until '85 when a one piece wall was used. Sad as this was a common rust out area. The grill is the earlier, but I think much better looking one than the '78-'79. My '78 grill was one of the first things I got rid of. Wow th...

Re: Datsun b210 added to my collection

Except it isn't a B-210.

It's a 210 AKA a B-310.

Pull that bumper strip off and put a set of flairs on it .

Re: Water flow through the L series heads

http://www.the510realm.com/download/file.php?id=43783 Why are the outlet drains so high up when the combustion chambers are so much lower down? Why not copy the L16/18/L20B??? First thing that comes to mind on the L4 is the two openings for the warming/cooling of the intake manifold. I bet these mo...

Re: bench testing alternators

I had a mounted electric motor and a volt gauge from a 720. I can't remember if I used a battery. (I don't think so...) I just held the alternator in hand with the belt loose around the pulleys. Pulled the alt. away from the electric motor to tension the belt, does not take much without any load, an...

Re: Suspension bodges

The one on the steering arm looks like wear from a loose bolt. You can see material pushed up around the top of the hole. I can't see the point in slotting one side of a part that attaches to another at fixed points. With the other bolt on it can't move in that direction. If both bolts were loose i...

If you complete your profile with a location, shipping costs would be easier to figure out.

Re: WTB NapZ transmission

The B is a great transmission and the later made the better as it did get some upgrades. It was used with 280zx non turbo so roughly 180 hp at the crank. The C would handle twice this safely.

Re: WTB NapZ transmission

Label is wrong. If it's an '81, then it's an FS5W71B. The earliest use of an FS5W71C was the '84 300zx non turbo and the C was never used in the 720. The B or C is the style of shifter that was used. Definitely made after '79.

Went through my parts pile and I guess the rad in question IS from a 200sx but a later Z20E or Z22. Has the inlet over on the right side. Will try to fit it into my 710 but may not be room between the headlamps.

Re: My L20B build, piston cam and other questions

The original poster is using the old bore with a hone and new cast iron rings. Seems like a budget home made rebuild using stock parts. If L18 pistons are unavailable, then he will have to keep the L20B pistons. If all there is available is an open chamber head to work with then milling it and decki...

Re: 200sx (S10) part out/sell as whole

I know of one in east central Washington. I drop by to visit so will get a picture next Canby trip. There's also one in Penticton that's 'done up' and on the bottle. They definitely have a quirky look to them. It was the first 200sx but it came at the end of the 'coke bottle' era of styling like the...
