Re: What gaskets and where to source?
This is an old post, but any work just fine. Rubber, do not use sealant. Cork, use black (please do not use the RED!!) RTV on the oil pan side or the valve cover side. Block must be pretty spotless clean from residual oil. Most important, is make sure the oil pan bolt holes are perfectly FLAT..........

Re: Windshield Washer Nozzles - Any sources/Alternatives?
I will have 510 nozzles. I might have RE-PLATED yellow zinc, but I do have raw original. The Z car can be used in a pinch, if you have access to any of those, but you would need to bend them a little to suit the 510.

Re: Door seal from Vintage Rubber
I will have the drivers front drip rail moulding, but big flat box into Canada might be expensive! Might you have a USA address to use? Hate to say, but looks like they bent the heck out of that upper door frame! Have you considered blacking out the upper door frames & the middle B pillar sectio...

Re: L20B Flywheel FS
Like datzenmike said............L20B (and Z car) had 6 bolt (L16 L18 had 5 bolt). Appears to be the heavy version with the thick mid section. The Z cars had a thinner mid section, thus lighter, but this one could be lightened.............

Hey icehouse, I think Chad is talking about the steering idler assembly on the passenger side (USA spec), not the steering box idler arm!

If you still need guidance, contact James Johnson aka "The Datsun Keeper", in Cali somewhere. He has been involved in many JDM imported 510's!

Re: Searching for a new caretaker
I just bought a very similar 510 last year, out of Saginaw! Was extensively autocrossed in the SW Michigan region, throughout the 80's into the 90's. Brian Rebney (RIP) had amassed a TON of trophies with this car (along with rallye trophies with a different rallye 510 in the 70's). I am just now div...

Nice! Looks like a nice clean headlight/wiper chrome bezel & has the steering column filler piece (triangular) that is often missing, cuz the tabs would break!

Re: Idler arms
I should have a good stock idler arm if needed. I heard years ago, that the delrin etc kits do not fit the aftermarket repop idler arms, so I have always kept OE USED ones around. I know "555" made a repop, but I never researched WHICH aftermarket did not work with the kits...............
