Re: Converting NOnLSD to LSD

I used a later model R200, so the splines were the same as the 240SX/Skyline etc. I have a Tomei clutch type that I reduced the initial breakaway torque for. It's still a bit clunky, but all clutch LSDs are. As long as you use later versions that are compatible with the newer units, you have plenty ...

Re: B210 brake booster install

I found a single reference to my issue of fitment in an old post. Either open up the spacer hole, or use the S30 spacer. I don't have an S30 laying around, so I used a step bit to open it up. Here is the result. https://i.postimg.cc/wj6txY0L/IMG-4781.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/BnMjX7Vy/IMG-4782.jpg ht...

Re: B210 brake booster install

I'm still at it. The brakes still have a lot of weak pressure on the first part of pedal travel and then hard. I have managed to make them work with effort, but that's not why I installed the booster. To alleviate any wrong parts matching on my end, I decided to get a 7/8" MC from an S30. Unfortunat...

Re: B210 brake booster install

The brakes worked fine before I installed the booster. It took effort to brake, but the more I pressed, the more I stopped. This pedal is flaccid and never gets hard. (no innuendo intended) It will slow the car, but in a panic brake or threshold braking situation, it will end the car's life. I'm rea...

Re: B210 brake booster install

Calipers all free? I had a similar feel more years ago than I'd care to remember on a Z project. In the end the front calipers were stuck Yep. They're good. When I was trying to bleed and wasn't sure things were working. I pulled each caliper and put a block of wood in and extended the pistons with...

Re: B210 brake booster install

2 months later, and it's still not any better. My current explanation of the brake feel is "it slows the car, but it doesn't stop". I can feel the brakes engage at a decent spot in the pedal, but there is no more engagement with additional travel. At the bottom of the travel, the pedal stiffens up, ...

Re: New swap-4G63T

What brand is that Waste gate? It's a Synapse Engineering unit. It really is a quality unit, but the use of screws and loc-tite to hold it onto a searing hot part probably isn't the best. They were quick to let me know what the issue was with the unit, but did not provide any directions on disassem...

Re: New swap-4G63T

Here are 2 laps from that days road course event. I know I'm not fast, and I have a LOT to learn, but it was a blast.

On a side note, the waste gate just had the screws come loose. Thankfully it's an easy(ish) fix, but it will likely happen again.

Re: New swap-4G63T

So, #4G63510 made it to its first road course event. https://i.postimg.cc/8c2cMCTZ/IMG-4566.jpg I was very worried about the brakes after my B210 booster install. They're still not great, but I felt safe enough to be on course. https://i.postimg.cc/FHW8fHfz/IMG-4504.jpg My Tomei R200 1.5 way LSD wor...

Re: B210 brake booster install

I tried everything I could, and it still wasn't working. I took the car to a friend with a shop and we started from square one. We plugged a few minor leaks including redoing my MC bleed screw block offs. The bled the system again. Still felt like crap. So, we took the pushrod out from the booster a...

Re: R200 LSD options/setup

Just as a passing note; when I installed my new Precision gear CLSD years ago- it sounded like a bag of hammers Out of the box. I seriously thought it was broken. After putting a few miles on it, and adding a bottle of GM LSD fluid, I found a parking lot that I could drive around in tight to tighte...

Re: B210 brake booster install

I’ve spent hours fighting air until I reverse bled them. Get an old school oil pump can and hose and push fluid from the bleed nipple back to the master. A turkey baster is good for pulling the reject fluid out of the master as you go. It hasn’t failed me yet. Thanks. I was considering that, as it ...

Re: B210 brake booster install

I have had everything installed for about a week now. The pedal is almost nonexistent until the last few inches, and then it still doesn't stop very well. I presume there is air in the lines despite a complete fluid flush and bleed. I even went as far as to bleed the system using a tube from the cal...

Re: R200 LSD options/setup

It's installed and broken in. I haven't taken it out yet since I changed the fluid, but my initial impressions are it's noisy and clunky. I assume it just needs to break in more, but I'm sure I have some bushings that need some refreshing. https://i.postimg.cc/x8ZpRxrx/IMG-4556.jpg https://i.postimg...
