Re: Turbos and B210 boosters

Me thinks that you are in uncharted territory. Lots of people have used a 210 booster, but probably not many have bothered to think about details like positive pressure on the brake booster under boost. On the other hand, would sending positive pressure to the brake booster be a problem if you are ...

Re: Turbos and B210 boosters

According to Baz, the answer is in fact "yes", a one way valve is required. I assumed this to be true, but no one ever talks about it. With the lack of responses on here, I also wonder if anyone knows about this. He stated that I could get one at the auto parts store and to try and get a metal unit....

Turbos and B210 boosters

So I just picked up a B210 booster setup at Eagle Rock yesterday, and I want to be sure that I can run this with a turbo system. I've seen lots of guys running them, but I haven't seen any specifics about other elements needed on a turbo system. Do they require a one way valve of any kind so the boo...

Re: New swap-4G63T

@gooned The R154 is way overbuilt for anything I'll be able to throw at it. That was always my intention to overbuild components on this car so I wouldn't have to worry about them. I planned for 400hp, but I doubt I'll even be able to put 300hp down. I'm working out a plan to fit 225 width tires at ...

Re: New swap-4G63T

A few updates over the past couple of months. First, I went ahead and got the BRE Spook since their shop is here in town and it seemed like a decent enough option. It also looks better in person than in all of the posts I've seen. My initial reasoning was to get some cool air to an oil cooler, but t...

Re: Rear 5-lug Conversion

Again, why 5 lug? I did mine to get Z31 CV axles. I probably could have done the same or similar with Z31 4 lug options. https://s20.postimg.cc/cjlmh0iwt/PICT0002-2.jpg https://s20.postimg.cc/oy8ehc2p9/PICT0008-1.jpg https://s20.postimg.cc/u9nb2247h/PICT0013.jpg https://s20.postimg.cc/65wjdrtgd/IMG_...

Re: Autocross Alignment Specs

STEP ON IT!!!! Especially as I watched in the video, I realize I need to be more aggressive. I think I'm treating it too much like driving on the street, because that's all I've known to this point. As each run goes on, I do get more aggressive, but I know I have more in me. I'll be on the same sur...

Re: Autocross Alignment Specs

Autocross using this setup. The surface sucked. The tires are all season. I'm not very good. I'm open to criticism.

Re: Autocross Alignment Specs

For those asking for more gearing and smaller tires, I don't see the need in my car. This is not strictly a track car. I have no issues spinning the tires all the way through 2nd gear with the limited boost I'm running. 1st gear is pointless at anything over 30% throttle unless it's completely strai...

Re: Autocross Alignment Specs

The results are in. I suck. The autocross course today was a bit sketchy. Loose pavement and slow speeds. I don't blame the car, but it could definitely use an LSD and sticky tires. It was tough to get a read on the alignment, as any grip at the limit turned into understeer with my tires and the poo...

Re: Autocross Alignment Specs

Tires aren't really my concern right now with a 2.0L turbo motor and an R154 transmission. My R200 has 3.54 gears and I'm on the hunt for a 3.7 LSD. I'm happy with my 2500rpm @ 65mph. Although smaller tires will help with some clearances, width is what I'm most interested in. Either way, I can't get...

Re: Autocross Alignment Specs

Ok, so things didn't go as well as expected. I tried to use my camber plates to add caster, but ended up adding positive camber that I didn't feel the control arms could undo. (I have a second way to mount them I'll try at a later date) Due to this, trying to get 5 degrees of caster wasn't happening...

Autocross Alignment Specs

I'm late in posting for help since I'll be installing parts and aligning the car tomorrow, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Most people will likely tell me to run the DQ specs, but things have changed since those days. I'm running Experimental Engineering spring and shock setup f/r with Top End Perform...

Re: New swap-4G63T

More stuff done. Stitch welded the engine bay. I'm sure I didn't do a great job, but It's done and I did it myself. https://s20.postimg.org/c00aqtrq5/IMG_3735.jpg https://s20.postimg.org/o1vokydt9/IMG_3736.jpg I also filled a few holes and did some smoothing. I didn't go overboard, I just wanted to ...

Re: New swap-4G63T

Winter break is here, so that means it's time to do a larger project on the car. Before work can begin, the garage must be cleaned so I'm not rolling in dirt and oil, and so I know where tools and parts are at. https://s20.postimg.org/l5xeyzuml/IMG_3713.jpg Next was to take pics to show where the ca...
