Re: My Brakes Suck!
I was planning to make a modified attachement to the rod. I was going to start by moving the hole down about an inch while leaving the rod in its current plane. The stock piece is just pressed metal with a welded nut. Pretty simple to make something similar that attaches lower. At least that's the p...

Re: My Brakes Suck!
I guess I should update this. I did in fact swtich to Z32 calipers from Parts Shop Max. My pedal feel hasn't changed much and I don't feel as though I have much of an improvement. I will be trying to change the pivot point to change the pedal ratio and see if that helps. The car works and there's no...

Re: New swap-4G63T
Do you have an external cooler, with the '90 style oil filter housing (maybe in this thread already, but not searching right now)? I had issues getting my oil level in the system correct when I added one and would see moments of oil starvation as the pump pulled oil out of the cooler lines. I'm gue...

Re: New swap-4G63T
As soon as I figure out how to get a speed signal to the ECU, I can actually do boost by gear. It's not a true boost by gear, but very close using the stock ECU and ECMLink programming. I'd love to lower the boost in 1st and 2nd. With 300+whp, I could still spin the tires going straight on the highw...

Re: New swap-4G63T
It's obviously been a while. With the site being down and life changes going on, not much has changed. I do have a few updates. First, the front brakes are now Z32 style 4 piston units. They are much larger than I think I need, but with how hard the pedal is, I'm sure it will be better than the old ...

Re: New Apex Engineered rear suspension
It would be cool if they did actual charts of stock vs. their's. I know from what we did that the points you choose are very important if you want less tow and camber gain. 1/2 of stock camber gain is best we could do and that wasn't easy. Also their exhaust clearance seems non existent and that ja...

Re: New Apex Engineered rear suspension
Someone finally got back to me and confirmed they can do an R200 and Z31 hubs with CV axle modification. They do sell a Z31 unit, so I didn't think this would be too far fetched. I'm just waiting on them to confirm my request for an order and to send some money. Has anyone actually installed the uni...

Re: LSD: Clutch Type vs Helical ATB
Jeffball, out of curiosity - what is the break away torque set at on your diff? I'm not sure how to measure that. I don't believe Tomei gives a spec. I did swap 1 clutch to reduce the breakaway torque before I installed it because I assumed it would do what it's doing. I have Z31 CV joints with the...

Re: My Brakes Suck!
I took my brakes off this week to check things over and swap in some "street pads". The pads I ordered didn't fit, so I just reassembled. I noticed the grease in the caliper slides was pretty sticky, so I replaced it with good stuff. This seems to have helped the pedal feel slightly. I hav...

Re: LSD: Clutch Type vs Helical ATB
I put more slippy juice in the diff and it didn't seem to help. I don't have a ton of miles on it yet, but it still clunks. Maybe I need to do more "performance driving" to loosen things up and work the additive in. I'll keep updating, but I'm not sure this is the right diff for me and my ...

Re: New swap-4G63T
Wait, so you have AC in this guy now? Not quite. Due to the location of my throttle body, I need to fabricate a new mount for the compressor. I started playing with Fusion360, but I haven't gotten far enough. I'll play with it more this winter. The heater works great. It also has cruise control, al...

Re: New swap-4G63T
What was it about the climate in Las Vegas? People were less "people" and more just another number. Businesses would open and make some quick cash doing shady work and then close shop and move on. Home prices were so outrageous that I couldn't resist selling. It became less of a community...

Re: New swap-4G63T
It was time for me to leave Las Vegas. The climate (not the weather) had changed in Las Vegas and it was not for me. So I set out on the road to the Nashville area. At least I tried to set out. https://i.postimg.cc/7ZR3hh27/IMG-7330.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/Pr2zG2fS/67748273287-DB3-F02-B3-2-D35-4-F4...

Re: New swap-4G63T
2022 started off with a cold track day. The start was postponed due to low temperatures. It was below freezing in Las Vegas. What an odd thing. https://i.postimg.cc/MHK1cSPh/IMG-6935.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/mD4YsMQZ/IMG-6945.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/brCkkB4d/IMG-6889.jpg I did of course get the car...

Re: New swap-4G63T
Wow! Over a year since I updated this? Unacceptable. Lots has happened. I'll break it into a few segments. The spring of 2021 was me figuring out how to get air conditioning in the car. It's still not 100% complete, but I had to make quite a few changes. I had to redo the collant lines since the rad...
