Re: Autocross Alignment Specs

STEP ON IT!!!! Especially as I watched in the video, I realize I need to be more aggressive. I think I'm treating it too much like driving on the street, because that's all I've known to this point. As each run goes on, I do get more aggressive, but I know I have more in me. I'll be on the same sur...

Re: Autocross Alignment Specs

Autocross using this setup. The surface sucked. The tires are all season. I'm not very good. I'm open to criticism.

Re: Autocross Alignment Specs

For those asking for more gearing and smaller tires, I don't see the need in my car. This is not strictly a track car. I have no issues spinning the tires all the way through 2nd gear with the limited boost I'm running. 1st gear is pointless at anything over 30% throttle unless it's completely strai...

Re: Autocross Alignment Specs

The results are in. I suck. The autocross course today was a bit sketchy. Loose pavement and slow speeds. I don't blame the car, but it could definitely use an LSD and sticky tires. It was tough to get a read on the alignment, as any grip at the limit turned into understeer with my tires and the poo...

Re: Autocross Alignment Specs

Tires aren't really my concern right now with a 2.0L turbo motor and an R154 transmission. My R200 has 3.54 gears and I'm on the hunt for a 3.7 LSD. I'm happy with my 2500rpm @ 65mph. Although smaller tires will help with some clearances, width is what I'm most interested in. Either way, I can't get...

Re: Autocross Alignment Specs

Ok, so things didn't go as well as expected. I tried to use my camber plates to add caster, but ended up adding positive camber that I didn't feel the control arms could undo. (I have a second way to mount them I'll try at a later date) Due to this, trying to get 5 degrees of caster wasn't happening...

Autocross Alignment Specs

I'm late in posting for help since I'll be installing parts and aligning the car tomorrow, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Most people will likely tell me to run the DQ specs, but things have changed since those days. I'm running Experimental Engineering spring and shock setup f/r with Top End Perform...

Re: New swap-4G63T

More stuff done. Stitch welded the engine bay. I'm sure I didn't do a great job, but It's done and I did it myself. https://s20.postimg.org/c00aqtrq5/IMG_3735.jpg https://s20.postimg.org/o1vokydt9/IMG_3736.jpg I also filled a few holes and did some smoothing. I didn't go overboard, I just wanted to ...

Re: New swap-4G63T

Winter break is here, so that means it's time to do a larger project on the car. Before work can begin, the garage must be cleaned so I'm not rolling in dirt and oil, and so I know where tools and parts are at. https://s20.postimg.org/l5xeyzuml/IMG_3713.jpg Next was to take pics to show where the ca...

Re: Narrowing rear control arms

It's obvious you guys are much smarter than me. I'm just trying to look at things from my limited perspective in hopes that it helps in some way with what you guys are doing. :D Looking at your design, have you considered what rear bearing housing you're going to use? Maybe you can just steal it fro...

Re: Narrowing rear control arms

I'm nobody and have no idea what I'm talking about, but I would think you might want to start with the rear crossmember itself. I think the large box design has a LOT of room for improvement. Moving the pickup points upward, removing the restrictive box around the diff mount, better clearance for th...

Re: Adjustable Rear Spring Perch

I found some weight jackers on Ermish Racing. The name is misleading, but seems to serve the purpose. I don't think it's cost effective to spend $400 on a system like this, so I've decided against it. Eventually I'll do coilovers, but I was hoping to find something more cost efficient for the time b...

Re: Door Lock Issue

That is an awesome fix. Some delrin tubing will be the best fix option. Agreed. I'm sure others will begin to have issues (if they haven't already) with their locks. The stock piece is just plastic and will wear our or break over time and use. I know my rubber tubing fix won't last forever, but it ...

Re: Door Lock Issue

I bought a set of locks from Z Car Depot for a 240Z, and they work :) You might need to turn the tab 180 degrees for one side of the car, but they seem to work just fine. https://zcardepot.com/image/cache/data/800-528-1-900x900.jpg My issue seems to have stemmed from a spacer/cushion-thing on the ar...

Re: Front Wheel Clearance?

I'm running 205/50/16 with a 10mm spacer up front. Of course, this is with some S12 V6 struts and Z31 hubs and brakes. So most of that won't apply to anyone else. I'm planning on getting lower control arms and T/C rods in the near future and using my camber plates to add caster. I'm not sure if that...
