Re: Lift is in, car in air...

Like an itch that demands to be scratched, I went and checked it again. At this point, I'm ready to keep him spooled. He seriously has a problem... Apparently, I'm a snobby Brit who needs to 'follow my Mama's advice'.... Uh,Wut? I may actually contact JNC and have them review it, to maybe reel this ...

Re: Lift is in, car in air...

Heading home on the 15th.... Finally. Now I have to re-learn how to work. 58 days of not touching tools is too long. Did a bunch of project planning and design work for the house/property. Designed the shop, all the way down to the plumbing, and bar in the loft area! BTW- If any of you want a good l...

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator

Free time at the hangar here in Ethiopia, and I'm reviewing the Tech section. Since no one has chimed in for almost 2 years, I can toss in my experience. Ran this version on my Rx2, with the Holley 4 barrel. I mounted it on the strut tower, and plumbed an in-line gauge right after it. The setting on...

Re: Lift is in, car in air...

Well, here we are, 2 weeks past their return to service 'dream' date.... Shocking. Our being here and seeing the limitations of their abilities has forced them into a quality level that they had no intention of meeting, Originally, there was NO quality assurance personnel to verify very specific, cl...

Re: Lift is in, car in air...

Local Airline managed to bang 2 of their OWN airplane's into each other. I am not here to actually perform the repair. It's a babysitting job for the locals who intend to perform it themselves. Their lack of experience has shown itself, and they have no real idea of what this repair is going to take...

Aaaaaaannnnndd spin the world wheel, and where is he now......? Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Not a bad place, really. Weather is nice, never over about 80 deg (What's that, about 25C?), people are very nice, traffic is an organized chaos that people back home could not imagine, and it is the land of the T...

Re: Lift is in, car in air...

Greetings, gentlemen. Been a while.... Projects are still safely tucked away at my buddy's place in the container. Major change in house situation: Got plans finalized, engineering stamped, and loan underway. Sadly (or not), the current market has build costs out of control. It's good if you're the ...

Re: EFI Manifolds For Sale, IR for Datsun L-Series heads

Crazy tempting..... Investigating what else needs to come into play.

I could get 5 of them and put them on the 240Z, too. Commonality between the 510 and the Z could be super advantageous.

Re: Lift is in, car in air...

I was told the fire was caused by a failed fuel-oil heat exchanger. Allowed fuel into the oil system, and it ignited.

Re: Lift is in, car in air...

Plane is about 10 years old. Engine issue, unrelated to the actual airplane. Remember- airlines don't own the engines. They are leased from GE and Rolls-Royce. I have yet to get a real answer as to what caused the fire, but know that the plane itself worked flawlessly, continuing to fly on one engin...

Re: Lift is in, car in air...

Greetings from Singapore! YouTube Singapore 777 fire and that's what we are here repairing. No wing tank damage, just secondary structure, and flight control surfaces. Airplanes are tough as hell. The fire makes you think it's way worse than it actually is. Pretty 'straightforward' repair for us. Ba...

Re: Lift is in, car in air...

No real aircraft 'repair' to report. Just reliability mods..... Nothing sexy. I did see a fleet of the Lada's painted as taxi's for some tour that was leaving from the hotel one afternoon. Cool little sedans. That rear-engined Russian car could be super cool.... STi driveline with the front drive on...

Re: Lift is in, car in air...

Happy 5/10 day from Warsaw. Shockingly, no Datsuns running around here. Weird.
