Love the idea of going outside the 'nissan' box when choosing a motor upgrade, especially since is was very cleanly done. the car looks amazing and is proof of what a well executed project should turn out like.

Re: Clutch kills RPMs
PO told me that the owner before him did all the work as far as motor and trans swap... all my PO can tell me that the L20B is from a 620. That has me thinking i have a 225mm... but yeah, drop then order ;) the picture below has me thinking in need a new slave... one of the POs jerry-rigged this tog...

Re: Clutch kills RPMs
So.... with the engine running in neutral, is there gear grinding if you put the clutch in and try to shift into reverse? Yes? or No? No. been caught up with newborn and school lately... so aside from lack of sleep and constant reports for my business law and IT classes, been trying to do as much r...

Re: Clutch kills RPMs
L20B could have 200mm or 225mm flywheel/clutch plate/disc. Can there be any tell-tells on what size it could be, say from determining what exactly my trans is? managed to get under the car yesterday, i have a 63A 2 stamped on the passenger side, just curious. guess since i'm not driving it at the m...

Re: Clutch kills RPMs
Well, to be more descriptive: Is the clutch some how causing a drag on the engine when you push the clutch in? i doubt it, how can i be sure? Is the engine just stalling because of a poor idle condition? Idle is good, qwik510 was up here a few days ago to verify this Does it happen everytime? yes D...

Re: Clutch kills RPMs
I don't understand how I can get more descriptive then as I press in my clutch pedal to get into gear my RPMs fall and then engine dies. I thought I gave a good summary above that nothing sounded or looked out of the ordinary. Am I missing something?

Clutch kills RPMs
after a few weeks of working through some other fixes, i took the 510 out for a quick spin, having an issue with pushing the clutch pedal which results in killing the RPMs, to eventually the engine dying out. I can't say that the shifting is the smoothest either, but I can get it into gear once i'm ...
