Re: Air Conditioning for 72 4 dr. w/vg30?

Thanks guys. I'm having Vintage Air send me a catalog and planning on going with ecotech510's setup. Lot's of room in the VG engine bay. Battery is in the trunk now.

Air Conditioning for 72 4 dr. w/vg30?

Anyone done it out there? Vintage Air looks like a good option. The VG has enough "oomph" to power air and not be anemic like the old 1600 engine was. We live in Montana and rarely need a/c but a trip to southern california might require such a thing.

Re: Changing valves seals with head in place L-series

Byron, I used the Ford V6 Viton seals on my smoking 72 L16 and afterwards no smoke whatsoever. They are shorter overall so for a high lift cam they are great. I believe the # is SS 72686 Fel Pro. I used a box end wrench (1/2"?) to tamp them down on their seats with the cam in the head.

Ford EDIS for our carbed cars

Go to Autosportlabs.com for detailed instructions on how to convert our distributor engines to crank fire. I am in the process of doing this to my L20b 68 Wagon. Why? Because no more "moving" parts. More specifically, wear parts. My 1980 200sx dizzy simply wore out, leaving me on the side ...

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?

While I get this system sorted out I would suggest you do what I did and go to Autosportlabs.com for their very detailed instructions on how to install a Ford EDIS system and Mega Jolt Lite Jr. on your engine with carbs.

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?

Finished wiring up the Ford EDIS crank fire ignition today. It would not start with key ON power from the fuse block so I stood back and decided to run power all the way over from the start/run wire that used to go from the coil and Yippy, she fired and runs. So then wired in the Megajolt lite jr. a...

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?

I'm converting the L20b in my 68 wagon to crank fire with Ford EDIS ignition. Turned the rear of the crank pulley down for the trigger wheel, installed. Then built a bracket for the VR trigger wheel sensor. Next will mount the coil just in front of the battery behind the headlight. Have the EDIS mod...

Amen to that....can't wait for Solo to get going....early May is usually our lst and it's only a couple miles away. I have all adjustable everything now, all heim joints and the NVH is GREAT! I can feel everything the car is doing.
