Re: Swamp thing, from drift car to Endure car
Holly crap - nice air cooled block. Too much of your VW influence there my friend! The dent in the motor mount is the icing on the cake there. So who gets to claim they 'Built' that engine? That is a ridicules amount of camber - are you sure that's needed. I'm thinking if you dial that back you'll h...

Re: better red than dead
Bearings are available across the shelf, or at a bearing supplier. Lock nuts are a Nissan part, around $5 each - Dealer item. I machined up a set of removal/installation tools years ago in my youth to make the job easier. They have been let out so many times - it might be easier to count the locals ...

Re: 510 Day 2018 - Byron's place in Maple Ridge
510 Day 2018 Well, it's that time again - 510 Day is fast approaching and I look forward to hosting this annual enthusiast drop in event open to all Datsun owners. I'll supply a case of burgers and buns (or likely 3 cases because we nearly ran out last year). Bring a chair and drink and your Datsun...

Re: WTB: NEED A 69 Glove Box Door
Doug, Unfortunately I can’t help you out at all, it’s likely the only one I don’t have a spare of. In fact of the 30 some 510’s that I have owned over the years, the Bronze is the only 69 510 I’ve ever had, and it came with a custom wood dashboard when I got the car. For that car I had a 69 SSS RHD ...

Re: How to get a 5.1 or 4.875 final drive for a R180 diff ?
The lowest ratio I’ve seen for an R180 is a 5.13, but I haven’t seen these for sale for 10 years and I was told that the teeth are getting so small at that point that the pinion year isn’t all that strong given the torque multiplication that is going on. I know I have also heard d of 4.88’s out ther...

Re: WTB: NEED A 69 Glove Box Door
Hi Doug; Outside the SSS type, there are 2 types of 68 dashes, USDM and Non-USDM. The 68 non USDM dash is definitely all metal - I have many..... 68 non USDM Dash.jpg 68 dash.jpg Here's a 68 USDM Dash; And even though I have a 68 USDM dash (the photo in the back of the white wagon) I don't remember ...

Re: L28det into 510?
I’d love to see photos of your L28ET installation. I bought a 68 4 dr car years ago that had an L28ET. It used an S30 front X-member with rearward strut rods and the tunnel was cut out quite a bit - right up into the cowel making the sock wiper linkage inoperable and as noted the shifter was back qu...

Re: 68 510 for Sale Central California
That’s a bit of a strange one, as it’s either a 69 with later side marker lights, or the really odd chance that the chassis is a 70 or later that some one has installed a 69 dash into. But I don’t see anything 68 in the car. The one thing that’s really hard to change is the cowel- this car has tande...

What's really cool is that these tires are available in; 185 & 205/60-13 ($120-135) 185/60-14 ($130) 195 & 205/50-15 ($135-155) 205 & 225/45-16 ($155-175) There is no official Canadian Nankang site, but these dealers are listed as carrying the AR-1's; https://www.canadawheels.ca/nankang-...

Found an interesting read on a personal experience with these tires in a track day situations, the guys seams fairly competent; http://www.trackhq.com/forums/f296/nankang-ar-1-review-9935/ Keith, have you ever had tires rotate on the rims like this? I’ve never marked on to track it, but I will now! ...
