Re: Hello - Introduction

Is that the original 73 green? My very first 510 was the 'grabber green' colour, as far as I know it was a colour that started in 73, and I've seen it on 620's and 240z's.

Very cool, thanks for sharing and great to see a lifetime 510 guy - welcome to the Realm.

Re: Double or Nothing - 280z GT cruiser

Just to throw it out there, have you considered the Titan/Armada V8-Auto motor set and transmission? I ask because I'm impressed with the output in my Armada (same 300+ HP) and the auto give a very reasonable drive. The automatic will down shift to higher RPM,s unlike most cars and give reasonable e...

Re: Scary times

The Bronze was also set up to run 13x7 Libre's, but we had to switch to 15's 10 years ago when good tires became non-existent. I agree with Keith, we'll be stepping into new territory or brands now. I too have run Yoko's ever since I built this car, it's hard to step away from a known brand and qual...

Great to know Terry's car is still in good hands.

Welcome to the Realm, great to have you, and this car back!

Hope to see you at Canby in June.

Re: EFI Manifolds For Sale, IR for Datsun L-Series heads

I'm sure he's referring to A510's, some of which came with the NapsZ engine - and in this case he would be absolutely correct. PL510's are of course L-series, and precious few of these came with EFI, and none with IR EFI which is what I built. If you are planning on retrofitting a junk yard EFI syst...

Re: Difference between 610 and 510 rear sub frame

I know that the front control arms were slightly longer that the 510 ones. For rally guys, the 610 control arms were valued when cars sat at higher ride heights in order to keep some positive camber. I know that the rear X members were interchangeable with the 510, only because a friend in high scho...

Re: '69 2-door Daily Fun Car

Using the oetiker clamps at work on the air lines, I simply used a pair of side cutters and crimped them down evenly on each side. Over a brass barb fitting, these easily held 150 psi for the 13 years I worked in the shop.mif you could find a Coleen way of crimping the same way, it does save you buy...

Re: EFI Manifolds For Sale, IR for Datsun L-Series heads

Andy's a really good guy, and has the knowledge and clout behind any L series engine. He's rung an insane amount of HP out of these old engines. And he's also used the SDS set up like I did on the Bronze. But doing your homework on what's available today is the best route. The SDS systems are really...

Re: EFI Manifolds For Sale, IR for Datsun L-Series heads

There certainly there were mileage improvements in both cars that I did drive. Also there was a notable emissions improvement as we had to pass smog tests. The tunability of the EFI is certainly there, infinitely adjustable on a stand along system. This is what made it possible to drive a large camm...

Re: New Member looking for pre-1973 Datsuns

Hi James - precisely one of the few original cars. I think Maurice V 510, Sahib 510, John V's roaster, the 1200 on the Island, and a small handful of other classic Datsun's locally are the showcase cars that would fit this pre-73 bill.

Awesome photos BTW.

Re: EFI Manifolds For Sale, IR for Datsun L-Series heads

First - clarification - EFI won't give you a HP advantage over using carbs with identical volume potential and tuning, EFI just gives you the ability to electronically meter you air/fuel ratio opposed to atmospherically metering as a carburator does. It's just simply easier to tune most EFI systems ...

Re: New member, malaysia

Curious, which twin carb set up is on your car, and what size of motor? In North America, the early A510 like yous came with the L20B engine, carbureted. The second generation of the A510 (which had the quad square headlights) came with either EFI or carburated 2.2L NAPS Z engine. Both versions avai...

Re: EFI Manifolds For Sale, IR for Datsun L-Series heads

The only time I adapted a Nissan OEM EFI system to this manifold was back inthe 90's, and I used a 200SX L jettronic unit to do it. There is no means of adjustment, and although it worked fairly well, I would certainly say it could be better. My SDS does a much better job, but it's also 90's technol...
