Re: Dual 4 bolt (4 screw) 46mm SU intake manifold

I am pretty sure the 4 bolt SU manifold is a custom piece. The factory Nissan SU manifold for the L series (SSS) was a 2 Bolt flange for the 2 Bolt SU’s. The 4 bolt SU’s were used in the 6 cylinder applications, but never on the 4’s as far as I know. Mike Yarn had a local foundry cast a 4 Bolt SU ma...

I’m a bit late to the party, but I also bought two sets of Tyson’s rockers, just in case someone’s interested.

Re: Removable radiator support

Yes, I do believe it could be done with a standard cherry picker- as the whole thing would be in front of the car. You’d need length in the garage, and a narrow dolly under the motor. I had the very same thought the first time I used the jig, and her I do think it’ll work fine. Still easier that cut...

Re: Removable radiator support

Many years ago I built a jig to also lift the car from the front, and with the use of a dolly install the motor from the bottom. It’s very simple to do, and can easily be completed in your home workshop. Cutting the rad support to me will alter the integrity of the engine bay. As noted in Jordan’s t...

L Series Dowel Pin Availability for block to: Head, Front Cover and Trans

I'm collecting for a couple of motor builds, Does someone have a source for L series dowel pins? (OE Part Number) 1 - the split, hollow dowel pins between the head and the block (11053-73402) 2 - the 6mm pins out the front cover (11046-73402) 3 - the one solid and one split dowel pin to the transmis...

280ZX Turbo or Equivilent High Volume Pump Part Number

Hi All, I'm in parts collection mode, I have a couple of motors to build, and need some past experience from some of you that still play with L motors - yes Jeff, I know :-) I need to verify what's left out there these days. Is there a comparable high volume oil pump available that's actually matchi...

Re: Changing my cars attitude

A lot of those gravel specific tires (tyres) for around 100-120 each is a bargain. We pay double that here and wait inordinate amounts of time. One draw back to the heavily siped tire is that the tread blocks don’t have a lot of support, and generally the snow tires are a softer compound of rubber -...

We look forward to your progress.

Curious- what is the colour. It looks suspiciously close to a stock 510 colour...

Look forward to seeing your posts and pictures here. Start a thread for the build and give us a little background. Looks like a very cool build.

Re: Center Mounted Parking Brake

I wanted simpler, but that's intriguing. So you just T into the rear line with that smaller BMC, or go direct from the dual BMC up front to it and from their back to the brakes? Yes, this hydraulic brake will go inline with the rear brake line - T'd in at the tunnel. So your brake system, with this...

....skid marks.... I came across 4 brown bears on a drive to Bella Coola a number of years ago. They were crossing the road, but were not yet off the road. I stopped about 3-400 feet from them, and they just stood there looking back at me. I put the 300mm lense on the camera in the car, slowly opene...
