Re: Fresh Restoration/Refresh 71 2dr for sale.

Reminds me heavily of my rally car which was the same colour :-)

Nice list of restored pieces.

Do you have more photos of the car? I'm thinking you could sell it right here on the Realm pretty easily. People are watching.

Re: The Bronze - '69er Resto Project and continuing build-up.

What shocks are you using Byron? I am using the QA1 adjustable and it has more than enough adjustment for me with the 1100lb rear springs. I know my rear has never bottomed out but I am a good bit higher than you. Thanks for your feedback Norm. So to confirm you are using Specialties 1100 lbs sprin...

Re: The Bronze - '69er Resto Project and continuing build-up.

Good for you Byron its nice to have someone like Peter confirm the quality of work on your car. Great pictures too. Dan, it was an honor just to talk with Peter. But to also be able to interview him and then have him comment about the machine and fabrication work on the car was just awesome - I do ...

Re: Stereo Options

It's kind of old school, but I bought an amp that simply had a 3.5mm input jack that I could plug my I pod/MP3 player into - no head unit at all!. I have never installed it because I figure I'd need a competition level stereo to overcome the mechanical noise of my car, so it's sat in a box (somewher...

Re: New swap-4G63T

Concerning the oil cooler, I built a 13 row heat exchanger into one of radiator tanks on the Bronze. It seemed like a great idea at the time, and it works extremely well. I documented the rad build well here; http://the510realm.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=530&start=645 However now that the build starts...

Re: Rear 5-lug Conversion

Very interesting Jeff, thanks for sharing those photos. Of course, I have to ask questions if you don't mind. The 5 lug for your application is noted. And the conversion to using the Z31 5 lug hub giving you the brake caliper bracket and the CV joint is commendable - great work. Are all Z31 ZX's the...

Re: Fred's 73 2dr 510

It's interesting to see this topic come up again. Keith has a very vivid and valid reason for bringing up the condition of suddenly running out of suspension travel as the outcome heavily effected him on the track - with a lesson to be learned attached. However, I too came across the same issue a fe...

Re: The Bronze - '69er Resto Project and continuing build-up.

Well, the Bronze received great accolades from none other than Peter Brock a couple weeks ago at the Canby Datsun Show. During the show/event, I had the absolute pleasure of interviewing Pete in front of the dinner crowd at the Saturday dinner during the weekend program. That in itself was a great h...

Re: The Bronze - '69er Resto Project and continuing build-up.

When cleaning the suspension while doing a nut and bolt check before departing for Canby this year - I came across signs that there has definitely been contact between the control arm and the body work. Proof that on my set up, with corner weight jackers in place and the spring rate in use, it is st...

Re: Turn signal flasher relay

As I trace the rear turn signals, I am still not sure if they ground back there...or..... There is a harness chassis ground back there; two wires normally coming together at a ring connector in the harness - terminating to ground right near the trunk catch held down by a #2 Phillips machine screw. ...

Re: Turn signal flasher relay

I tried to buy a set of Paulo's prints, but at the time I contacted him a couple years back. He'd quit producing them anymore. At any rate - I'd love a good copy of yours in trade for the installation :-) As noted in my wiring of the headlights posted on the Bronze thread, I assume the function of y...

Re: Turn signal flasher relay

Funny you mention that power goes through the 4 way flasher in series before the signal switch. I was reminded of this a few years ago on the Bronze when my signals stopped working one day. On the car I used a 68 dash which doesn’t have a mounting spot for the 4 way flashers, and used a 69 wiring ha...
