Re: Hello, I'm new. 1969 521 in San Diego

It's funny, since purchasing an old Armada simply for its functionality- and the fact that is was still a Nissan - I have come to respect what that 317hp/387lbft of torque is capable of. That truck is big, the appitimy of a gas guzzler icon SUV. But I'm telling you it gets that 6000 lbs+ truck up an...

Re: Hello, I'm new. 1969 521 in San Diego

Having not followed the engine swaps in the truck very closely, do the torsion bars get in the way of the transmission down low? I thought the torsion bars would be an advantage as there are no shock/spring towers giving plenty of room for those wide late model cylinder heads and exhaust manifolds i...

Re: Traveled to Toronto Canada

It's not a short drive, but you could go see Dave at Futofab in New Hampshire....

Hopefully someone with local knowledge in TO can help you out, many of us on the forum are located on the west coast including myself. Hope you get some information.

Re: Is the Subaru R180 the same as the Nissan / Datsun R180

the gears in a datsun 4x4 front diff are cut for the front. if used in the rear you will be running on the wrong side of the gear. I think Keith is running a 720 F diff These from riffs have been compared in the past to rear riffs, and photos show that they are intact cut the same direction. We con...

Re: Speedometer problem

This used to be a serviceable item. Go back 40 years when all gauges were mechanical, there were shops in every city dealing with these for the taxi industry. Today I'll bet those guys are hard to find! The speedo can be serviced and calibrated, but you'll have to find a guy that still does it. It'l...

Re: Spring Rate Feedback

I have 300 front and 1100 rear with good dampers/shocks. I wouldn't call it harsh. Firm but not harsh, if I turn up the shocks it gets harsh pretty quick. Norm, as you have most recently built your suspension set up compared with most running these rates, which shock brands and models did you use f...

Re: Noobie's 510 project

My SDS EFI set up lacks an idle control valve or stepper motor to control a cold start cycle. So I his means that I also have to warm it up. I have purchased their upgrade kit to solve this issue, but have yet to instal it. So for now it needs the manual warm up cycle no different that it did when i...

Sounds like a great time capsule. Welcome to the Realm, love to see some photos of the car, hopefully you'll find the needed inspiration here to not only get you started, but also to get the parts you may need.

Re: THE OLDEST 510

Technically it's still a car! Went for a second attempt to find this one this this past weekend - took a couple of hours be we found it. It's DONE! Three of the 4 doors were smashed off - broken at the hinges - every post is bent, front drivers corner stoved in. Car was stripped of all running gear ...
