Re: IDEAL Rear Suspension - No Holds Barred

Broke; You posted more photos of this suspension design somewhere on this site. Do you have more photos of this complete set up you can post here? - specifically the modified LCA's used and changes to their links/attachment points at the X member - which is still in place.

Flashback Friday

So I'm combing google images after looking at Andrews post for his 77 200SX for sale, I wanted to see what the Asim is bumpers looked like on the car. It's been so long since I had seen a photo. So I get about 20 photos down and come across this.... IMG_8735.JPG It's Don's 200SX ( with stock bumpers...

Re: Installing Windshield - Windshield Install

chrome trim is placed after rubber is cleaned and seated with the glass before installation on the actual car ? if so you slide the chrome trim in from one side? Noooooo.... You'll bend the trim and cut the rubber. With a thin and not sharp (preferably plastic) tool, you literally pull the rubber b...

Re: 280ZX Brake calipers sourcing problems

I have the same issue. A few months ago I started comparing brands and wondering which would be best. Now, there is no debating because there simply are not options at this time. Hopefully this is just a lull in the supply cycle and it will return to normal. Otherwise, more expensive options may ne...

Re: Knox Mountain Cruise 2017

Hi Keith, I'm out. An iffy looking weather week me would have had me going with you. But the long weekend is looking really good now, and the family has been really wanting to go camping. It'll be a great weekend to go to Knox through. Have fun.

Agreed.

My buddy had an RX4 wagon around the same time I had an RX4 sedan - in my youth. When he got rid of his wagon, I kept the "Rotary Wagon" emblem off it. I still have that to this day.

Cool pair of cars for sure.

Re: Double or Nothing - 280z GT cruiser

Grinding a 45 degree angle on both faces of the Butt joint gives you full penetration to the root of your weld. That's the best you can do for strength. I had the same concern when I Z'd the frame rails on my fathers '53 Ford PU that we slammed and bagged. Because of the odd shape the the rails, I o...

Yes, I do recall blending into the flares on the Bronze. And I do remember it took many attempts blocking it in on both sides of all four flares....
Be happy that you flared just one end (or did you do the front as well?)

My dream is to recreate the BRE fenders in steel one day.

Did you find a 510 one?
With the layout on those limited plates, somewhere out there is a PL510XX - that's be the plate to get.

Re: 510 Day - Byron's place in Maple Ridge

I've got a few G scale (garden gauge) trains. It's funny, a few of us played with them in the dark after everyone else left. I have a couple LGB starter kits and a few more bits of rolling stock. I bought a couple Bachmans, but they are in rough shape. But my two best engines are a 150 ton 3 truck S...

Re: "The Shed"

So the last electrical item was the exterior lights. I purchased these from Costco on Tuesday for $45 each - bought 5 of them. They are a 2 stage light, having a Halo low power beam once it gets dark, and when tripped they kick up to 2500 lumens each - and since they are LED, they are quite efficien...

Re: "The Shed"

So to bring us up to date, and as noted above - the lights are on! By the end of Monday, we had power to the shop. This line work needed to be done by someone in the know - so the conections to the breaker boxes was farmed out. Below is what you will recall was the status as of the beginning of last...

Re: "The Shed"

It's been some time since I've updated this thread. Electrical work progressed through the winter, and boy it felt like a very long winter. Actually it was a very long winter season as in we actually got winter when normally Vancouver escapes the below freezing temps and snow. In any case, it was of...

Re: "Hey" my daily driven race car!

Many of us have solid mounted the X member. It sounds like your Savage washer wasn't installed right if it was moving around, like you noted. Was the upper washer still in place, the one between the body and the top side of the X-member? In our cases, we remove the stock top washer altogether, and i...
