I like your brake line plumbing and the rear line termination to run down the tunnel on the inside.

As noted, nice and clean.

Re: Can am box

Holy shit. I totally didn't think of that. That is a profoundly simple and efficient idea. I owe you a Pepsi. I see what you did there..... :) I just about fell off my chair laughing last night when I read that - good shot Rob! Meanwhile 2/3rds of the Realm is wondering - "what the hell are th...

Re: L18 questions

Wix is good.... The old hot rod trick for these engines was to use 240Z flat top pistons to bump up the compression ratio. The 240Z flat tops were available in various bore sizes, so you'd want to match what you have to what you need. generally most would do a re-bore when doing this and start with ...

Re: Thanksgiving Classic Car drive to Squamish

Dave, I've been joining this event in a couple of different 510's over the past 6 years and I have to say it's such a great little gathering due to the eclectic cross section of machinery that shows up every year. This year being dry just saw a whole lot more of it! But even in years where rain is p...

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?

That RX-4 is so cool! I had a 4dr one back in the 90's, mine was a 13B - dead stock right down to the reactor still bolted to the side of it... much fun! I don;t honestly think I have seen one in person in over 20 years here in Vancouver. I have seen 1 R100, a couple RX2 and RX3's, but no RX4 at all...

Re: Thanksgiving Classic Car drive to Squamish

Glen and I will be going as well - see you there.
My car is still packed from when I returned from the August car show - cooler, chairs and all the organizational stuff - been a crazy last couple of months. The job today is to shovel out the car, wash it and get ready for tomorrow am.

Re: moved back to CO, time to raise Tweety back up

From my rally experience, and depending on driving style and speed - a 175 to 200 lbs spring rate would be good if you ever plan to be airbourne. Just saying from experience that bottoming out is really hard on things and this is when parts get broken. If you simply crushing the well groomed gravel ...

Re: Bike rides

Apparently it's still safer odds than going to a concert these days.... very sad. I don't hike nearly as far back as Keith does, but I did spend my childhood in the back country, and the rules are simple. Generally animals hate us, no matter how big we are. That being said, the most dangerous animal...

Re: Another transmission ID.

That would be an odd gear set. I had a 78 KC PU with the factory 5 spd, and admittedly the 4-5th shift dropped only a few hundred RPM's at 80 KM/H, but a 1:1 to .93:1 would feel like you didn't even change gears! The comp gear boxes had a 1:1 5th gear with a tall 1st gear and the ratios in between c...

Very cool - thanks.

I would like to join you with my Xterra and the kids - it works well for this type of thing and the kids need to see more of this.

Re: PoorMtnKids 70 2DR

DNF's are really frustrating! I helped a friend a few weeks ago at the track with his vintage class 510. We were chasing an issue all weekend that I could not figure out of it was ignition or fuel. Played with the distributor, eventually changing it, and the coil. Looked at float levels, fuel delive...
