Re: Noob build

Been a while since I've seen a black 510.

So you planning on making the All Japanese Classic in North Vancouver this year? Looks like you are well on your way.

Re: All Japanese Classic '18 - August 26th - Waterfront Park

Likely March. I'm meeting with Richard this weekend to see his new family (baby boy), so I'll see if we can get a meeting date together. If there are some more locals willing to pitch in, we do need volunteers. If Auto X is an option, we'll nee a few more! Certainly contact me anytime if you want to...

Re: Diff swap: STI R160 LSD 4.44 Suretrac

I can't offer you a definitive answer. But I can say that machining the axels is possible. I do remember reading that one guy did try to "machine" in snap ring grooves, but found the PL510 stub axles to be too short. There are two answers for this. One is to possibly remove the dust shield...

Re: 620s addition to my collection

The orange one - California or not, still has the same rust we deal with here I see. It's a rare find to see 620's with the factory seam in the box lines. But I've seen this truck before... It looks like you have a lot of work ahead of you on this one. The green one is cool, and glad you got the whe...

Re: The Bronze - '69er Resto Project and continuing build-up.

In addition to the photo a few posts back, I've been asked to post up some photos of my Carb manifold (opposed o the EFI manifold in the previous post). So here is the carb manifold photos from when I assembled the Bronze with a rather crusty set of original Solex/Mikuni carbs which were purchased i...

Damn, those wheels look way bigger on your truck than they do on my Armada!

Re: Water flow through the L series heads

I’ll assume there is a similar mod there Rob, Jamie’s car hardly sees the light of day any more, but next time I get the chance... I would assume there is some relavence to this mod. As the FIA head also addressed the issue. Jim thanks for you input on the L-6 engines. The only issue I see with the ...

Water flow through the L series heads

OK, this post is just a bit of a question regarding water flow in our old L series head - for those of you who haven't stepped up a few decades in engine design. I was browsing on a Z forum, and came across this; https://www.facebook.com/godzillaraceworks/photos/pcb.543647529333972/543647399333985/?...

Re: Rack And Pinion exploration

Jeff, I like the splined sway bars due to their adjustable center tubes being torsionally different rates. When I was building stancions for my Tilton bar, I thought that a tubular bar could actually run through the box section under the radiator with plates welded to each side of the inner fender w...

Re: 1971 2 Door, L16 --> 2.1 Long Rod --> SR20VE

I’m with you on the ‘body work sucks’ department. I’ll only do my own! And even though I bought a bunch of fancy tools (and I went back to finishing by hand anyways), it still sucks! So I totally feel for you and your look in the photo. But the photo revealed one other thing. Are you going to take t...

Re: Five-Hundred and Ten

Progress is really coming along. Fabrication of the complete dog leg section of the door jamb, especially on the drivers side looks like it’s going to be a real challenge. That’s a huge section of material missing. Good that you are confirming fit of the panels as you move along. And also quite fort...

Re: Part Numbers

It’s possible that this is a Tilton, not sure if there were other brands made. But there are no PN’s etched which Fidanza said there would be if it was theirs. We'll find out shortly if the Fidanza friction plate will work. Resurfacing wasn’t an option, a ceramic puck type friction disc was used and...
