Re: Joyce’s ‘71 521 Farm Truck

Hi Robyn, You'll have to put me in touch with Lewis again - it's been years! Can you text me his contact number? Thanks.

Which Jason are you referring? If its beebani23, I did get an email and will reach out to him.

Has anyone else done a conversion of some other sort for the 521?

Re: 240MM clutch experience

The 240mm clutches were used on the 720 4x4 and the 280ZX Turbo I believe. A quick search notes Centerforce listing a couple different "Stage" clutches - whatever a stage means. They never list clamping force which is a way better rating indicator that a "stage" 1,2,999 ect. so it might take a phone...

Re: Datsun yard sale

I believe the 510’s are already sold, there was three of them there. But there are lots of parts, 510 and especially S30 and S130. I some some 620 & 720 panels as well. But honestly I was there to only move cars that were going to be moved to storage for safe keeping. I didn’t hav time to look at wh...

Joyce’s ‘71 521 Farm Truck

Well a new Datsun project found its way to my door step last weekend. My wife really admired a local 521 years ago that she saw come to our local shows and had mentioned a number of times that she’d like one. This particular example came from Vancouver Island. I have no history on it, but it’s endur...

Re: 510 Day - Byron's place in Maple Ridge

Looks like the weather gods are letting up. The torrential downpour projected for today was just rain early this morning and it’s now a sunny evening. Only a trace of rain projected for tomorrow now with afternoon and evening showing sun. So the BBQ is ready! See you locals tomorrow for those that c...

Re: WTB: Rear control arm bolts

In my playing around with the 280zx rear suspension I have learned that the same length bolts were used in that application- buy they are a way better design.

See if those are available- with lock nuts and washers - you’d be ahead of the game.

Let us know if these are available as well.

Re: 510 Day - Byron's place in Maple Ridge

Awesome. Weather looks not so good, but it won’t burst my bubble - we’ll hide under cover if the Pacific NW gives us any moisture. It’s a go, rain or shine. There’s pleanty of space in the shop, and I’ll throw up a 10x10 over the BBQ if need be. But since 510 Day happens on the back end of the syste...

Re: WTB: 510 2-Door Black Arm rests

Toylet, just reviving your old post. Are these still available and has anyone used them?
I was working on my brothers 510 this weekend and admittedly it’s a pain in the butt to try and close the doors without an interior handle to pull on.

Any help would be great.

Re: New 2d 510 Owner in Los Angeles

Welcome to the Realm. Looks like a great starting base to a good car. We’ll look forward to more photos of the whole car. Pretty cool gift, I’m sure most of us would agree. Wiring is about as basic as it gets on a 510. It’s still a system to learn, but really basic. Unless a section has been physica...

Re: 510 Day - Byron's place in Maple Ridge

Just a reminder to all Vancouver BC area guys - 510 Day at my place coming up this week. Picking up the burgers and fixings this weekend.

It's been quite the show this past couple of years, hope you can make it out.

And hoping the weather will be good as well.

Re: How to get a 5.1 or 4.875 final drive for a R180 diff ?

The '80 Long Bed 4x4 did have the long nose R-180 in 4.625. I know of none above that number. It’s even more specific than that Mike; the 4.625 diffs only came in 1980 long box 4x4’s with the L20B in the first half on 1980. The second half of 1980 long box 4x4’s came with Z22’s and we’re 4.375 diff...

Re: So what's wrong with this picture?

Well Greg, the ground clamp through the wheel jumped right out at me....just thinking about all that arcing across the wheel bearing races... Then I started looking at the project itself, the methods, the tools being used, where the car is sitting while the work is being done ect, ect , ect..... It ...
