Re: Red Barchetta

so then, no answer yet... Nissan Armada? :P My impressions of my Nissan Armada(s) don't really fit the MSV in the story. Yes, -its a tank at 6500 lbs, and it does hold 8 people. It also gives my 510 a run for it's money in a straight line, but I admit it doesn't shed that speed very well - 4 wheel ...

When I blow through one hose I can hear it blowing bubbles in the pan.
Just checking, are you pulling oil from the pan - cooler - pump - Filter => engine?

Or is the oil going from the pan - pump - cooler - filter => engine?

Just clarifying.

Re: Red Barchetta

Keith, I certainly remember the story, you put a lot of work in that one and members of the club then talked about it for a long time. If you find the issue, figure out who was the club editor at the time, the story may still exist on a hard drive somewhere. Rob, thanks for posting. That was an enjo...

Re: Binky!

I’ve just watched episode 19 and as usual it was great. But it left me wondering if they’re ever going to finish it. What an amazing build, talk about”anal”. If they finish it - we'll loose our entertainment! Besides, in this case I'm not so sure it's the ride they are after - it's just getting the...

Re: Rear Axles

Byron.........was the long center bolt "captive" in the stub axle, unless you disassembled the u-joint? If so, I have a set + 2 ZX parts cars! TJ Yep, the long bolts are captive in the 280ZX stub axle, and there's a little O ring on the bolt as well to seal it from leaking oil - just like the 510 b...

Re: FS: 510 heater blower

Don't think this is a 68-73 510.......unless it is 68 only.........?? That's not a 68 heater fan either, it's a 5 bladed fan and is much less efficient that the design shown above. I've never seen a fan like this one in a 510, I'm thinking it came from another model Yevs :-) The rest of the bits ce...

Hmmm, that is frustrating. Can you meet with this group in any way? Get a confirmation from them that what your plans are would be ok, give them a chance to ask you questions, ect?
I'd like to think this is still a democracy where all parties have a say....

Re: Rear Axles

I recently ended up using a set from a 280ZX as my 510 stock was also gone. Since I have an older type R180 with the Bolt in style stub shafts, I used a pair of 280ZX half shafts that have the spline right on the inner end of the inner half shaft U joint. It eliminated 2 flanges and 8 bolts out of t...

Re: Nissan Bluebird Coupe (JCCA Race Car)

There’s two schools of though on the crossmember hope. Solid mount the exhaust to the X-memeber with the ability to flex at least on the engine side, or enlarge the hole to 3 1/4” ID or better and attach amount. The former is generally a race set up as skip fits are utilized and there’s no hardware ...

Re: With asap front brake hose in Calgary

A 7/8 M/C works perfect for thatZX front brakes, the 15/16 is a little bit stiffer, it it’s amazing how much less travel there is on the pedal for the 1/16” extra bore. The only item to be mindful of on this swap is how much the rear brakes are working, or should I say how little they are working. P...

Re: With asap front brake hose in Calgary

Hi Mike,

If it's a pedal travel issue, and not air in the lines, the stock 510 M/C is 13/16". You want to step up to the S30 -Z 7/8" or S130 ZX 15/16" from 79-81 (82-83 swapped the orientation of the mounting flange from vertical to horizontal).

Hope that helps.
