Re: 510 Day - Byron's place in Maple Ridge

I glad you guys had fun, and that my wife, Dave, Glen and dear ole dad helped make it happen. I was in Florida for some training at work, it was rerouted back through Edmonton and up to a Pulp Mill Power station near Whitecourt for a service call Friday and Saturday, so I couldn’t even attend my own...

Re: Changing my cars attitude

Going through Tire Rack for a while I found only 1x 14" tire - the General Grabbers - at 8.5x27" - still a big tire. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=General&tireModel=Grabber+A%2FTX&sidewall=Raised%20White%20Letters&partnum=785QR4GRATXRWL&tab=Sizes or https://www.tirerack.com/tires...

Jesus! Foot slip of the brake full on the throttle?

To keep the patina look, you may have to pound that out! Damn, sorry it happened.

Re: Noob build

Getting closer all the time. Was the crank trigger the engine issue with the ignition not working? Heated seats! Now there's an option you don't see often added into a 510. Question - did you use some sort of isolation of the 0 gauge power wire between the battery and the starter, so that it's only ...

Re: Jeff's '70 2 Door

I made the ‘X’ a removable piece in my cage on the Bronze project. I’ve worked over far too many cages in my time. I researched an FIA/SCCA removable joint to keep the cage class legal. I rarely Ron with the door bars installed while driving on the street - it’s a track day only addition in reality....

Filled the heater core holes in the firewall. Will ultimately go with a vintage air system down the road. http://i66.tinypic.com/xf6slf.jpg I also omitted and welded up the heater holes in the same fashion- saying the same thing. Only I didn’t and here I am 15 years later loving that car buy hating...

Re: Blue '71 Project

It is a nice colour - car will look great when completed.

It's good to see some cars still in their original colour.

Thanks for the update.

Re: Rear crossmember bushings

After posting and looking at the factory parts book diagram - it would be impossible to assemble in the order drawn. The assembly drawing should actually look like this.... Factory Parts Book Rear Suspension Crossmember Bushings 3.jpg But in any case, I think you can see the order of the washers, la...

Re: Rear crossmember bushings

What I find amazing is that the rubber is stall attached to both washers. Dad's 510's were all fairly new cars, and my own wrenching was limited. By the time I started wrenching on my own 510's in the late 80's, this rubber was often in rough shape. Hopefully these photos of the FSM and the Factory ...

That’s a shame you had a set back. I tried to follow on IG, but it’s hard to follow what went wrong. I see reference to a Ratsun build thread, is there more there?
