Re: Old school 510
Well I got the car running today, The nozzles were really gummed shut and I had to remove the carbs to get them broken loose. One more thing, BRE (located in Henderson by Las Vegas ) is having an open house on Sept. 30th I'm going to drive the car there and maybe they will give me a preferred parkin...

Re: Old school 510
Byron, Thanks for the info. So after many months of sitting in the garage I went to start the car and discovered that the nozzles on the SUs were stuck in the "choke off" position. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to mess with it but later this week I'll dig into it. So is it the new c...

Re: Old school 510
Hey all what the heck happened to Bike Papa? Did he drop off of the face of the earth? Well I almost did, In January I suffered a massive brain hemorrhage and spent a week in intensive care under close observation. Turns out that it was a freak occurrence and fortunately I was one of the few lucky o...

Corey,
I have an extra set for both doors but I'm going to be out of town until Friday evening. I can check this weekend if you still need them by then.
Getting any sleep yet?

Re: 72 2 Door 510 Restoration-25 years in the making
Rush, The 1" wide strip of metal is really easy to bend. To make the template I used a piece of blue painters tape Laid it over the lower rocker panel just below the back edge of the door Used a fine line pen to mark the bend lines and put the tape on the metal strip and then shaped it to match...

Re: 72 2 Door 510 Restoration-25 years in the making
Joel,
That was one of the templates I made when I made this rocker panel and lower quarter replacement piece
Ms Rush,
Get all of your dimensions and make a mock up piece and see if a local sheet metal or HVAC or sign shop will bend them up for you.

Re: 72 2 Door 510 Restoration-25 years in the making
Ms Rush, I Like many others have had to replace the lower sections of the rockers. i used 18ga for the inner panels and 20ga metal for the outer skin. be aware that the dimensions between the 2 lower bends get smaller, these are the ones on the right side of the pic (somewhere between 1/8" to 1...
