April 2019

More progress this weekend. Thankfully, I headed in with the intercooler fitted so that meant I could work on on the charge piping, BOV recirc piping etc. since the start and end positions for all the pipes were established. I was actually able to precut the pieces for the hot pipe last time I was h...

FS: 510 White Needle Tach/Cluster [BC]

With my new setup, I won't be able to use the tach. It is used and works perfectly. I've had it on my car with the KA24DE for about 25,000kms. I've paired it up with a white needle cluster from the collection. The cluster less tach is un-tested and presumed working since I used the tach mismatched w...

Re: Rack And Pinion exploration

But the immediate challenge is exhaust routing. That new steering column ujoint thingy goes right through a very important piece of real estate that the exhaust likes to use. I was using a stock L manifold and just tossing it on here before dinner made my appetite kind of disappear..... The down pi...

Re: Rear control arm clearance

With 16x8 +30 I just ground off the pinch weld on the control arm and then welded the material back together flush with the control arm.

Obviously the clearance gets better as the rim size goes up.

You don’t need much more clearance than a couple mm.

Intercooler

Put another long weekend into the car and I'm happy to say that I have something to show for it! I touched up the hose ends of the intercooler inlet and outlet just to get some striations on there so the coupler won't slide. I didn't want to take much off since the tube starts at 2.50" to begin with...

Re: 13" Wheel Rear Disc Brake Discussion

The condemning ID for Q45/Z32 internal drum ebrake is 173mm and I'm 99% sure M30 would be the same which puts the hat OD certainly larger than the S12 and similar rotors. Perhaps 182-184mm OD?

Re: 13" Wheel Rear Disc Brake Discussion

Why not shave a caliper once and then you're good to go for off the shelf calipers? Confirmed M30 rotors are indeed a taller hat to accommodate internal ebrake drum. Perhaps that will help free up some space on the OD so that the caliper can be pushed off the hat hub? Would require a large offset br...

Re: 13" Wheel Rear Disc Brake Discussion

Infiniti M30 may be a good option since I think they had high offset rotors and are 4 lug out of the box. They may be the same as z31 4 lug but can’t say for sure at the moment.
