Re: Subaru R180 diff in Nissan case

If you clean/degrease the threads, a Loctite product would suffice. Red 272 @ ~2900psi shear strength or 680 retaining compound @ ~3700psi shear strength would be good options to consider.

I found out the hard way that there are 2 different ring gear sizes. The older Nissan ones are 110mm ID and the newer ones are 115mm ID.
Do the bolt PCDs line up still? Could always do some machining to make it work if that’s the only issue.

Re: Center Mounted Parking Brake

I used an early 90s Honda civic one. It has a decent tail on it that you can work with. There should be pics in the built thread somewhere (late spring 2014).

Re: #4G63510 Suspension

If you could get the car set up for 205/45 then there are a bunch of options. You didn’t mention if the strut tubes are shortened or not. If not, you may be sitting at a static ride height quite far down in the shocks travel meaning that the damping is poor. I’ve lived through this with my 280zx OEM...

Re: Converting NOnLSD to LSD

This one sounds promising but I would confirm before purchasing. This link is also a 2 way. You could always hold out for a 1 way or 1.5 way if so desired. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tomei-Technical-Trax-Advanced-2-Way-LSD-Diff-S13-S14-IA-for-open-rear-562021-JDM/141354888748?epid=1017843713&hash=item...

Re: Converting NOnLSD to LSD

I’m not partial to any brands but you for sure want to get one designed for OPEN diff 29 spline output shafts (s13 is a safe bet). Some use a pair of short side vLSD stubs so the LSD manufacturer doesn’t have to cut internal splines in the side gears (ATS and maybe others). This is not one that you ...

If it’s any consolation, my moog tie rod ends didn’t come with jam nuts at all!

Jordan, I think I noticed you had a wanted add on C/L for another 240sx driveshaft? I have one if you are interested. I will put my hands on it on Tuesday if that still works for you?
Yep, guilty lol! Sounds great. Just shoot me a PM if it’s a goofy 3 bolt one and we can go from there. Thanks!

Re: Driveshaft for SR20 install

I trimmed about 30mm of of my dust shield and left a little stub shield since it does fulfill a purpose of preventing a dirt barrage on the seal.

Re: B210 brake booster install

Hey Jeff I vaguely recall opening that hole up as well back in the day. As far as the spring check valve/residual pressure valves go, I removed the rear one when I got my new master. If there is one in the front, it may be a lower spring pressure but I can’t say for certain because I never looked at...

Re: Jordan's '72 2 door KA project

Great thanks. I think I found another way to make it work without the welding and all the finesse that goes into that. I should be able to get some parts machined that will allow a simple bolt together assembly with a press fit center to maintain concentricity. For scale, the bolts shown are M12x1.2...

Re: Jordan's '72 2 door KA project

Thanks for the comments. I really appreciate some real world experience with this stuff. That all makes good sense. I will have a look at the bolted option because it does take a lot of the finesse out of it. Sounds like an over coffee project for tomorrow. I don't have abundant machine shop access ...

CV Driveline

I posted a picture of the raw parts before but I recently made CAD models of them to try to plan what sort of weld interface I could make work. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7922/45742231635_b6d3f0a4e2_d.jpg It's an early (I think) S13 slip yoke with w BNR32 driveshaft CV flange from the halfway po...

If you do measure it up, I can re-run the spreadsheet with actual numbers and see where things stand.
