Re: 510 chassis/subframe upgrades to compensate for added hp

I figured I'd chime in here a bit as well because I have done some research into the subject apart from the R200 etc. mentioned above. There's this thread that comes to mind: http://www.the510realm.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=15073&p=155620&hilit=twisting#p155620 and I've heard from other references tha...

Re: Armada lug nuts odd size??

Lots of the new wheels have just gone to 60* taper lug nuts. Most use a pressed in steel insert that the nut seats on (R32 GTR wheels, Nissan BBS wheels, R33GTR etc.). My dad's Titan wheels take "normal" tapered/acorn lugs like most new wheels. On the contrary, my 370Z rims take the old crappy mag s...

Re: Jordan's '72 2 door KA project

Remember when..? Spent all afternoon and evening under the car today... Pulled the whole rear end so I could clearance the crossmember to mess around with the diff shims. Initially, I had foolishly assumed that all would be well with the CV driveshaft so I stuffed the shims up top. Poor choice, and ...

Re: Jordan's '72 2 door KA project

I knew that I was going to be doing some modifying as well, so I asked Jeff to send me a set of motor mounts tacked together but not finished, and managed to get the motor 0.8mm (lower) from the original height. Had to use a small shim in the process. I can always ad to the shim later if need be, b...

Re: R200 LSD options/setup

I built a little adapter that bolts onto the 3x2 bolt pattern and has a big nut at the center. I bolt it onto a 240sx output shaft and use a second output shaft in the other side of the diff center. I clamp one output shaft in the vice and rotate the adapter with a torque wrench. I used a click type...

Re: R200 LSD options/setup

I’ve put about 1 mile on my car with a 1.5 LSD and I can say it is definitely nicer and tighter than a vLSD. I put an ATS diff in and measured the static breakaway torque at around 70 ftlb which is pretty tight. I went with 1.5 because it should be less tail happy than a 2 way. You certainly don’t w...

Re: Jordan's '72 2 door KA project

Hey Jason. Congrats on the car! I take it you haven't driven the car with the rack yet? Which steering rack isolators did you end up using? Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures and write up. I'm planning to get only the lasercut mount bits (DIY kit) from Jeff so I know I'll be in for some...

Re: Jordan's '72 2 door KA project

Yeah!!!!! The STI injectors are plug and play, also 550's and are half the price of the ford injectors. At least down here. That Nylon compressor wheel doesn't like to be overboosted from what I've read. Sam almost got one for his SR20VET build. Ya I could get the STI side feeds but after you get t...

Forced Induction!

After many years of dreaming/wishing etc, I am on the road to turbocharging the Datsun! I'm going to go KA-T much like Matt and others but I will be blazing my own trail a little. With Jeff's rack conversion, I'm banking on being able to bottom mount a T3 frame turbo with a short tubular manifold (S...

Re: 15 years

Yes time does fly. I’ve had mine from 17-26 and put nearly 35,000kms on it!

I am sitting at 9 years now and have learned a lot of the same things you have except I skipped the carburetor steps!
