Re: R200 LSD options/setup

Are you using a bending beam or click type torque wrench?

Need a bending beam to really do this accurately.

I can help you work through the force/moment balance later.

Re: B210 brake booster install

I’ve spent hours fighting air until I reverse bled them. Get an old school oil pump can and hose and push fluid from the bleed nipple back to the master. A turkey baster is good for pulling the reject fluid out of the master as you go. It hasn’t failed me yet.

Re: Diff modifications

Yep. Even an R180 from a newer subi would probably be up for the task if it uses some good oil and isn’t hooned. Different types of LSDs available (in NA anyways).

I would exhaust a few of the easier options before I redid everything for a different rear end.

Re: 71 Halloween Pumpkin Build Unflared

+1 for Scremin turbo SR! Those look like R34 brembos? They're pretty big! Will take some fancy footwork to get them inside 16s let alone 15s. Perhaps something like the Datsport brackets to offset everything inward would help gain some caliper clearance? http://www.datsport.com/brake-front-caliper-m...

Yes!

While you're at it, take the time to get your driveline angles correct. It'll be worth it... I'm doing mine all over again. Hopefully for the last time!

Sensing and Cooling

Since I have some time to contemplate the build before my next round of actual work, I've been reading and plotting about 2 upcoming items on the build which are the MAF placement/intake pipe design and oil cooling. I've settled on using the R35 slot style maf long ago so now I needed to figure out ...

If you get S13 coils, make sure you get steel lower sleeves so you can weld them onto the struts.

Re: R200 LSD options/setup

Yep that sounds like exactly what you need to do. Like you said, they are reducing the number of slip planes so it therefore reduces the breakaway. Pretty smart really. I think you've got er Jeff! I would change my recommendation from before to just the recommended Redline treat rate if you are goin...

Re: B210 brake booster install

How about a RHD S13 or S14 brake master or a USDM WD21 pathfinder master? All those are available in 15/16" (not sure on the pathy) or 1". In fact I'm running a Pathy 1" master on my S14 Silvia. I still have the 15/16" master I believe. Bleed screws would face the fender. RPS13 shown. https://d2307u...

love it - fearless by numbers As much as I’d like to be a brave pioneer, this has been done on a 510 in Australia. Jeff’s white coupe (SX-510 on here) was modified for a short nose r200 and the crossmember was arched for exhaust as well. There are pictures somewhere on Ozdat. I believe there are vi...

Pressed the wrong button! https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4846/45742228815_99cb026d92_c.jpg 510 NY 2019 by JordanTr , on Flickr I used a reshaped 2" to 1.5" reducer to get me from the DP flange to 1.5" divorced wastegate tubing. I was amazed how well it actually ended up fitting together. I'll have t...

Re: Jordan's '72 2 door KA project

I spent another few days in the shop so we are due for another update. I was able to move the engine rearward another 5/16" and I did that by slotting the new engine mount lower plates. It also makes it a little easier to install which is nice. With the engine in its final home, I rebuilt the transm...

Re: B210 brake booster install

Could shim the mounting plate to cock the whole thing a little closer the strut tower. I did that on my car and it gained some room at the manifold. It’s probably not best practice but there’s enough play in the clevis etc to allow for it.

Re: Jordan's '72 2 door KA project

Hi Jordan, Incredible work. I have a question about the mod you did to your LCA. I understand you used 1 1/4” 0.125 DOM tubing but is the heim joint threaded end just inserted in the tubing or did you tap the inside so the heim is secured? Also, did you make adjustable TC arms or did you purchase s...
