Re: Jordan's '72 2 door KA project

Hey Byron, I definitely lost track of this post amid all the moving etc. Yes, I had access to a Shenck balancing machine with a technician (union problems! lol). I sure do miss it, there isn't one at the new mill. I would LOVE to have a balancing machine for home use. Imagine how smooth a car would ...

Re: Old GT3 car

Congrats on the feature in the museum!! I'm sure the ole 510 will get lots of love. It sure has been a long journey!

Car looks amazing and has come a long way since I saw it in person a few years ago.

Re: WTB a set of bare 280zx front struts and hubs

Nice. I’ve gotten lucky just loosening and separating the tie rods or just hack sawing the tie rod all together because I very much don’t like under dash work.

I believe they are pressed into the pedal box but yes, I think you are correct. It’s been a long time since I’ve dealt with a booster!

Re: B210 brake booster install

Yes the spacers on the booster take the place of the stamped steel plate that comes stock.

Re: Jordan's '72 2 door KA project

I'm glad some people actually read it and got something out of it!! A lightweight flywheel will only affect the transient response of the engine so I won't even get 1 HP! I went with Chromo, not aluminum, so I didn't overshoot the lightness like an aluminum flywheel probably would. The larger clutch...

Re: Jordan's '72 2 door KA project

I'm getting close to needing a new clutch on the KA so I decided to do some learning and documenting about the process. See below! I figured I would write a little bit about balancing for everyone's light reading over coffee albeit on a relatively technical subject. For those of you that don't know,...

I put the 510 back together enough to be driveable and trailered it back to Langley for winter.

You’ll also want to get the proper length as there are multiple sizes.

Re: Rear 5-lug Conversion

Only the turbos have 4 bolt flanges and ball in cage CVs. The NA ones in all years use tripod joints and a 3x2 bolted flange on different companion flanges.

Re: Noobie's 510 project

609 or 638 loctite would suffice too. +1 on the primer. Wouldn’t think you’d need high temp on the wheel bearings. Axial clamping I.e. tightening the companion flange nut to proper torque should not be utilized to ensure the IRs stay in place. That should be solely determined by the fits and the Loc...
