Re: '69 510 - Lysholm Twin-Screw Project
I've decided to run Evans (http://www.evanscooling.com)l this time around so I'll report back as to how it works out! Not to steer you away from this stuff, but we choose to use it in some of our heavy duty/Industrial diesel applications as it not only boils at a higher temp it also causes them to ...

Re: new member Cape Town, South Africa
Nice cars. I'll be in Johannesburg and Cape Town for a couple of weeks around New Years. What are the must see things from one gear head to another?

Re: WTB 1970 front turn signals
I just walked out to the garage to look at my car a 71'. Although I'm not 100% that my light are original I fell they are as the wiring matches in condition and color. They also portrude like the others that have posted. http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff199/lippmanf/Mobile%20Uploads/image-31.jpg

Re: Forrest's 71
Are the joints making noise? or the splines from the axle into the joint? I've heard of the axle splines being a little undersized causing a bit of slop. I though by buying the german joints got rid of the slop in the joints, but apparently not... I feel the cv's are high quality. The axles did fit...

Re: Forrest's 71
Nice car! How are those cv's holding up for you? Did you end up using the locking plates? P.S. Love the whole look of this car. Clean and simple, but very tasteful Thanks for the compliment. The CV joints are working great. With my CLSD the axles do make more noise than I anticipated. I feel this n...

Re: WTB 22 Tooth Pinion Gear
Try 32702-E9822 about $30 for everything. This is the complete assembly sleeve and 22 tooth plastic gear used in one of the 720 diff/wheel option combinations. To use in the earlier z or any 71B 5 speed before '80 you will likely have to cut a new key way notch for the hold down. I just used a 6&qu...

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
Where is that? Summit? First one is Bear Creek, Second is Skyline. My Drive started going south on 1 to my favorite Corralitos test track. Then Coming up the back side of Summit I drove right by my drive way and didn't stop till I hit Halfmoon Bay. A little glimps of the ocean then right back up th...

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
Went on a drive 20 or 30 min drive to tune in my brake bias, 200 miles later I think I got it. I hate it when I loose track of time. :D http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff199/lippmanf/Mobile%20Uploads/1407019290.jpg http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff199/lippmanf/Mobile%20Uploads/1407019299.jpg

Re: Forrest's 71
That brake setup looks great - all the best with the road testing and balancing! You mention adjustment from the drivers seat - have you installed an adjustment cable / knob under the dash or center floor area? The airbox set up looks good too with nice clearance around everything. Nice car... I di...

[quote= Do you have an idea on how long it takes to receive anything from Australia?[/quote] I recently ordered some stuff through Datsport. Re: Forrest's 71
Spent the last couple of afternoons finishing the pedal install. It went relatively smooth and I'm very pleased with the outcome. I knew it would be a PITA getting the pedal assembly out and installing the modified one but I choose to convince myself it was going to be too bad, I was wrong. After re...

Re: Forrest's 71
Very nice fabrication work - quite impressive! Thanks for sharing - I am sure we've all picked up some great ideas on this pedal box arrangement; I sure have! Looking forward to seeing the completed installation. I am wondering if you have considered remote fluid reservoirs to gain extra clearance ...

Re: Forrest's 71
I stayed busy at my fab table today. I'm running a long intake with my Mikuni carbs on my L=series and the number 4 runner is closer than 2" to my brake master cylinder. I decide I wanted to run a real air filter and this is the way I went about doing it. I was able to source a pedal assembly i...

WTB 22 Tooth Pinion Gear
I'm looking for the Orange 22 tooth Pinon gear for the for a Z 5 speed. The Part number is 32703-86402 but I am unable to source one. Maybe you have one tucked away gathering dust? Thank you. If you have the correct pinon sleeve I'd be interested in that too but I can always continue to use my modif...
