Re: MISSION Race #3 July 23
SeeDub_17 I suck at facebook so here are screen shots of some pictures I noticed a couple days ago. R160 Subaru 4.11:1 Diff
Bought this R160 subaru 4.11 open diff but never used it. $150? Pick up in Calgary, too heavy to ship. A 510 stub fits the splines inside the side gears, however there are no threaded buttons inside because Subaru uses spring clips. Appears there would be space to add buttons. If someone wants just ...

Re: New from Sunny South Africa
I missed your January post where you drove it the first time. Congratulations on getting it in motion, that had to feel great. Sounds like paint might only be days away and assembly can go pretty quick. Will it be driving this summer? Is there an inspection process in SA?

Re: New member from Edmonton
Wow, three days in and only one welcome. "Datsun's have been in my blood for as long as i can remember." This says it all, welcome to the realm Seedub. The depth of knowledge on this forum is tough to find elsewhere but I think you have observed this. However you have ties to some people w...

Re: Driveshaftshop.com axles ?
I believe somewhere on their site it says our axles are guaranteed not to break. Well, they won't break because they are heavy. I realized after the fact the axles are built to withstand slicks and drag car launches. They use the 108mm CVs which in my opinion are overkill for a for a 250ish hp light...

Re: CLSD Identification
Byron you jogged my memory and set me straight! The fellow who I bought my diff from in 2013 originally gave me an R190 and quoted the source being old skylines or Datsun Comp, I completely forgot this reference was to that specific diff. Due to it's odd size (190) I couldn't regear it so I took it ...

Re: CLSD Identification
Byron I believe I have an identical diff to yours, casting looks the same. I presumed mine was a datsun competition unit but the fellow who sold it to me said it was from an early 70s skyline. Mine has four spiders like yours which I thought was the competition unit where the production 180s were tw...

Do you have another thread covering body and paint or just this one?
It looks like a bag of hours invested but closing in!

Re: Dave Humphrey 1960 - 2020
So sorry to hear this Keith, that's just too young!
I recall seeing a number of race results where Dave would be next to, or within a couple positions of Colin, amazing talent.
Best regards.

Re: Knox Mountain 2019
Keith, thank you for taking the time to post pictures and write a story for those of us lurking on the realm. It's ALWAYS interesting, your drives, hiking, Knox, etc. The fellow with the BMW seems to be a somewhat recent contender though maybe longer than I think. Perhaps you've seen his car, if so ...

Re: Binky!
I have total respect for these guys, lots of engineering (and sometimes re-engineering) to achieve fitting all that hardware into such a small package. I myself am embarking on a similar build and I dread thinking about each and every little aspect needing engineering. The British dudes clearly disp...
