Re: What did you do on your 510 today?

What did you do on your 510 today? Well, I actually DROVE mine! I finished building my 510 in late 2015 then did a few revisions in 2016 (different engine and diff). I seem to find other distractions quite easily, so 2016 rounded out with only half a dozen evening drives while I sorted out another c...

Re: Noob build

Done by Christmas, sounds like your closing in. Living in Victoria can you drive it in december? I met Lou, prior to Don, but at the time didnt know Lou owned it until I visited with Don. Im most certain I know nothing more than you. I no longer recall specifically where Lou came from, but it was ea...

Re: Noob build

Ahhhh, your wiring brings back memories when doing my own.

I saw your car two owners prior, when it was full on race mode. You’ve come a long ways with it, nice job your doing on its resurrection.

Re: Noobie's 510 project

“inner bearing was gnared up.”

That bearing outer race has been held up to a belt sander, free hand style.

And edit: who was doing wtf to it?

Inner races likely spun because stack was not torqued properly. is my guess, but who knows.

Re: 510 Day - Byron's place in Maple Ridge

Keith, why did Tracey’s race car sport a rear bumper, “paint” protection? weight bias trick...?

BTW congrats on the mention of your retirement.

Re: Saw this article today. 510 the new 57 chevy

Hehe, having owned this car I know “a little” about it’s history and owners.

Don has done all sorts of 510 work and hot rods too. The article is marketing.

Re: 620s addition to my collection

Nice looking trucks! I notice your yellow one has an aftermarket sunroof. If in the event you wanted to restore it I happen to know where there is a king cab roof clip, for the right price. Its located in Calgary so you would have to arrange someone to pick it up.

Re: FS: 80s Subaru 3.7 R160 Clutch LSD

DADZSUN, I feel your pain. I advertised my Datsun R180 LSD here and the keyboard critics shot flaming arrows at my price yet nobody provided comparisons to support what they thought MY diff was worth. It doesn’t matter, because you can ask what you want, and accept what you want. Too bad your for sa...

Re: 2.3L of fun

I've been wanting to ask for suggestions to upgrade my headlights. When I assembled my car a little over a year ago I put the sealed beams back in, they are terrible.

Looking forward to your pictures.

Re: 2017 SCCA RunOffs

Each time Collin competes in the run offs it appears he's unflappable, perfect focus and perfect consistency, never looses pace looking in his mirror or anything. Baffles me how he developed the skill.

Re: 2.3L of fun

Aside from the stub axles you need to swap the pinion flange for one from a Datsun diff.

R160 vs R180... 180 is stronger (lesser known to break under abuse) than 160, comes with added weight unfortunately. If your existing 160 broke will it happen again with another 160?
