68 510 Headlight trims

I found a set of 68 headlight bezel trims in a 72 parts car. Some very light rust, mostly dirty. Straight. Asking $100 USD for the pair including postal shipping within Canada or the lower 48. 1CC4D697-5962-41C1-934F-2379B3AD3847.jpeg BA3A709B-6FD1-4C03-959F-5D099A4B9C39.jpeg ACDEF4DD-17B9-4308-93B9...

Recently put these on a customer’s Z. Paid $150 each. No problem getting them here in Calgary.

Re: Fear no More. Remove that Drip Rail Trim with Confidence

I totally agree with the sentiment of “just leave it alone” when you can. The only reason I did it was I’m stripping this shell for parts and I have aNother shell I’m working on that came without this trim. Hoping 2 and 4 door trim is the same size. Here are the tools I used. The bar is a tire chang...

Fear no More. Remove that Drip Rail Trim with Confidence

Finally found out a really easy and straight forward way to remove the dreaded drip rail trim. Checked on Youtube and sure enough, here is a guy who's method is simple, straightforward, AND IT WORKS. https://youtu.be/-nG5U7OVgUQ Catch the bottom lip from the back side with a wide flat blunt tool, an...

I remember someone hawking one with BRE in the casting recently on FB. So maybe Datsun Comp availability later on?

There is an article in the old Dime Quarterly publication (archived on google docs somewhere) that shows all the variations and what years they fit. Which vol/issue, well.....

Re: WTB: L engine water inlet / Washer tank mtg bracket

Good news and bad news.

I have two styles of the lower rad hose inlet. One is 280zx (curved tube, Left) and the other is 280z (right) . Your choice.

Bad news is I realized why I have that water bottle bracket. It's because the project car doesn't have one. Seems I need it. Sorry.

I have both a threaded lower rad hose inlet thingy and a un-spot welded water bottle hanger bracket thingy. Got my technical speak all warmed up this morning. Let me find them and post some pics. Send me a PM or email to z240@shaw.ca and we’ll get this under way

Re: Radiator support brace lower hole position

Hummmm. Interesting. Maybe it’s just the parallax in your photo, but on my 70, the two front bumper mounting holes are ABOVE the bottom lip of the rad opening. The distance from these bolt’s center line down to the lower hole you are trying to locate is 95mm. Remember the 75mm from to bottom lip to ...

Re: Radiator support brace lower hole position

Ah yes, I see your dilemma. I’ll try again this morning.
I’ll also measure the bolt location DOWN from the TOP of the rad opening. That way you can measure down from the TOP of your rad opening which should be at stock location.

Re: Radiator support brace lower hole position

Looks like close to 75 or 76 mm from the top lip of the rad opening down to the center of the bolt.

It’s an M6x1.0 if you didn’t already know.
