Re: Rear wheel stud help

I think Nismo has some 60mm studs too. That's pretty much 2.5 inch, maybe that's what Dave is supplying.

Re: Rear wheel stud help

Absolute bare minimum thread engagement length is ~ one bolt diameter. And that is for low stress use until you can actually get 1.5 - 2 x the bolt diameters engaged.

Late 90's Nissan Quest rear studs are 45 mm long I think. Google that to get the details right.

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?

Technically this was yesterday. Took the latest project car to my favorite painter. Mark Ross. IMG_3320.JPG That's Mark in it. He just couldn't wait to get in and drive it around. He's done all of my Datsun projects for several years. And because I know you HAVE to know the color, it's staying baby ...

I'd take the 4 swaztika center caps if they're still available. PM me or z240@shaw.ca. Thanks!

Re: Muffler selection. Magic solution needed.

Excellent advice, thanks all. Jsut getting the clue about the Walker Quiet-Flow mufflers is worth its weight in gold. Quiet flow mufflers are OEM replacements, so finding a suitable size is a bit of a trick. Looking through Walker listings on Summit Racing, shows the 21690 15 in long, 4.35 thick/8.8...

Muffler selection. Magic solution needed.

Well the question of the day relates to how to keep me quiet. Or at least the 71 510 I'm working on quiet. What I'm looking for is the answer to the eternal question, "If I wanted to make carburetor induction sucking noise the loudest thing I hear, and I'm not interested in wringing every HP ou...

Re: Saw this article today. 510 the new 57 chevy

I don't think I've ever seen Don here on the forum.

He's worse than me for being "in the Datsun business" but not really anxious to advertise it. He's most active on FB. He is "Don Williams of JDMotorsports".

That said, he's a great guy, knows his Datsun's. Very helpful.

Re: Speedhut High beam dash indicator

The LED's in the speedhut gauges are not accessible to either change to a different style of bulb nor change it's wiring around to switch it's polarity requirement. The use of a relay to do the polarity switch (see my post above) is the simplist way to accomplish this. If my description is insuffici...

Re: Speedhut High beam dash indicator

Ah yes. The old "wrong polarity" conundrum... You need a relay. The ground signal from the high beam switch is used to turn the relay on, (any handy +12v on relay term 85, hi beam ground to term 86) which then connects that same handy +12v on term 30 to term 87, that is connected to that p...

Re: Water flow through the L series heads

L6's definitely suffer from overheating in #5 and #6, but it's restricted to very high output engines. There is a very extensive thread on hybridZ.org that goes on and on and on about it. i'll see if I can find the link. One of the early L20A's (I think) used an external water manifold like what God...

Steel wheel Options for 510. 15 inch

Can't remember any discussion about this, but has anyone found a 15" steel wheel from another car that works on the 510?

Late 90's Altima wheels are 15 x 6 but the offset is +45mm, bit much of a spacer for my liking. Any ideas or leads would be appreciated.
