Re: WTB: Rear coilovers and other stuff

The T/C rods have a 5/8 spherical rod end in there and a threaded T/C rod to match. Pretty good solid design but you can't adjust them without removing one end or the other. Since the OD of the TC rod is apparently the perfect size to just thread to 5/8-18, seems like it would be easy to make a stoc...

Re: WTB: Rear coilovers and other stuff

I have a set of rear coilovers available. Got them from poorMtNkid couple of years back. They are for a significantly lowered 510 however and can't work for me. Koni shocks, Eibach 300lb springs. $400 CDN. I paid that $USD. I also have a rather ancient and "interesting" but servicable pair...

Re: Difference between 610 and 510 rear sub frame

Thanks Mike. I'll have the seller do some careful measuring before I commit. I am removing the stock control arm mounting flanges and welding on the new, so that might not matter. Probably better to hunt down a 510 sub frame.

Difference between 610 and 510 rear sub frame

Hey gang, I have a chance to pick up a cheap rear sub-frame from a early 70's 610. I plan on welding on a set camber adjusters to this "spare" sub frame to keep the time my 69 510 would be down to a minimum. I'm fairly sure they are the "same" at least design wise, but is there s...

Re: Restoring a '69 510 4 door.

Day 2 report. Some issues to contend with. The alternator, a new GM hot rod generic alt from Mopac, deciding to stop alternating and be just off instead. The main post came loose on the inside, so depending on mood and vibration, it would work/no work. Mopac replaced without question. 6 month warran...

Re: Restoring a '69 510 4 door.

Big milestone day. The car passed it's out of province inspection and is now legally registered in Alberta. Now I can finish up the few items that are left and get some miles on this thing! Thanks to Les and the team at Bowness Motors/Rusty SpeedWerks for the professional handling of the inspection ...

Re: Restoring a '69 510 4 door.

Maybe someone here knows. I "redid" the drivers seat position this week. It was a tad high and wouldn't go back far enough. What I did to fix that I'll describe later, but while I had the seat out, (2004 Acura RSX seats), I removed the side air bag module from the seat. I had previously sh...

Re: Restoring a '69 510 4 door.

Total surprise that a decent alignment made the car go straight down the road, I mean, lane.... Who would have thought that? ')

Inspection this Tuesday, then assuming it passes, I'll finally get to drive this thing.

Re: Restoring a '69 510 4 door.

I took,no, drive! the beast out of the garage today to put it on my driveway for the day to work on someone elses 510 for the day. Decided to take it for a short run down the lane. Shhhh don't tell anyone. Well the thing is nearly un-drivable! The alignment is totally out of whack, at 15 kph it is t...

Re: And it's back!

I'm planning on getting rich in the new reality (when the internet collapses) by selling a line of high fashion and special function tin foil clothing. I think you'd be quite dashing in all-over tin foil frock. Now if can solve the problem of lack of insulation....
