Re: Suspension and brake questions, I searched

If you are already having to cut off the spring search and weld on a new one it would be just as easy to put on an off the shelf coilovers kit on the struts. It opens you up to almost any spring rate you want and makes it very easy to set your ride height. Going with solid mounting or poly bushings ...

It was probably 25+ years old and like trying to look through a white sheet when driving into the sun.

Re: Chinese made aftermarket windshields

I just put a Chinese one in my car. It was the first time I had ever attempted something like it and after reading a couple of write ups on here about it it took me a total of 8 minutes after the rubber and stainless trim was on to do it by myself. I really didn't think it was going to be that easy,...

Re: LSD Break Away Touque...??

I agree Keith that the last thing to have would be a LSD with slow activation. Of the two models that Cusco makes for the R180 the RS has the lowest breakaway torque, lowest initial torque and fastest ramp up. The initial torque and breakaway can be adjusted by the number of coil springs in the cent...

Re: LSD Break Away Touque...??

Here is a question for you guys. What is better a high or low breakaway torque? From what I am reading low is better for low speed partial throttle. Ramp up to locking is important and lock % also. I have a choice between 2 LSD's. 1 has low initial and one has high. The low one has a much longer ser...

Re: 2.3L of fun

I am thinking I may do both. My ears hurt after a long drive unless I am wearing my headset.

Re: 2.3L of fun

It is the ring gear size and the spline count that are different. The ring gear in the K housings are 115mm and the older ones from the 240z is 110mm. The only 4.6 gears I have seen are the 110mm.

Re: 2.3L of fun

I guess that means no one has used one. They would appear to be the only company out there making one for the Datsun R180 so it would appear my decision is made. Cusco is doing another run of them in January so I will grab one and build up the diff then. As the rainy season is upon us again I think ...

Fun with Diffs

So I have been playing around with diff a bit lately. The Subaru R180 CLSD is in the car now with 4.44 gears. It has less play in it then the R160 CLSD ever did. I also bought a set of 4.6 gears thinking I would put them into the Subaru case with the CLSD but I made a discovery about R180's. The new...

Re: "Hey" my daily driven race car!

You guys just need a higher red line. Being able to go to 8000 will fix that shifting issue.

.....l also have a 4.6 gear set that I am going to build up another diff with. I'm going to save up for that fancy LSD Andy suggested.
