Re: 510 2 door... diff posi question

Subaru STI R180s can be found with Torsen and clutch type mechanical LSDs in different ratios in different years. Since the topic came up....and this is a good place to post this. Has anyone here actually tried the Subi R189 Torsen diff in their Datsun? I received a phone call from a local 510 guy ...

Re: 1971 2 Door 70s build

Well finally back and did some small things to the 510, threw the t3 rear coilovers on and currently dialling them in. Went for a good long drive and had them settle a little in this pic, need to raise them back up slightly now http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/DeathByGoat142/20170611_155121....

1974 Datsun 620 With A Twist

So if you've been following my 510 build you'll know that I picked up a 620 almost 2 years ago now and never got a chance to do anything with it. Well I've finally got moved into the new place and have some free time so this project is kicking off! When I first found it, inside a guys small shed at ...

Re: 1971 2 Door 70s build

Thought I'd throw up some of the toys I'm getting to play with while away for work, a 40+ litre 1500hp V12 Was finishing up changing a hydraulic line in this pic. The cooling system and transmission/engine are all a easily changeable unit. http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/DeathByGoat142/2017...

Re: wtb 14x8in rims

Maybe look into older japanese wheels, I picked up this set of SSR MKII's and they're pretty close to what you're looking for. 14x7.5 -6 http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/DeathByGoat142/IMG_20170223_202131_772.jpg http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/DeathByGoat142/20170223_134255.jpg

Re: 1971 2 Door 70s build

Everything is all back together for the moment with a few small things left to do, just bleed the brakes, fill the diff, and reconnect the exhaust http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/DeathByGoat142/20170323_210827.jpg Also prepping the 620 to travel to my new place so I can finally work on it o...

Re: 1971 2 Door 70s build

Another day another update! Didn't bring my diffs with me to work since I didn't want diff oil all over the back of my car, going to sign out one of the heavy duty impacts and bring it home Monday to get the input flanges off. Was able to get the mustache bar bushings pressed out and then sandblaste...

Re: 1971 2 Door 70s build

Looking at the wheel fitment above, it might be a case of the wheels no longer fitting if camber/toe's corrected. That said, I second the "do it now." Even if you retain the stock settings, you won't have to disassemble all over again when you decide you want to fix the camber and toe. I ...

Re: 1971 2 Door 70s build

Got a good chunk of work done today! Crossmember is out, control arms are off, and diff is out! http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/DeathByGoat142/20170304_135045.jpg Was expecting everything to put up much more of a fight, only issues I ran into were some seized bolts holding the diff in but w...

Re: 1971 2 Door 70s build

Def looks like time for new bushings. On the rear a-arm bushings, is your crossmember slotted, or otherwise adjustable? Most versions of adjustable crossmembers won't work with poly a-arm bushings. They'll bind, adding tons of spring rate. Also looks like you might benefit from a CV axle setup, giv...

Re: 1971 2 Door 70s build

Next order of business isn't as cool as bigger brakes or rear coils but it needs to be done all the same. Crossmember and mustache bar bushings are totally shot so ordered a set of both from Whiteline, while I have everything off might as well do the rear control arms so have a set from Energy on th...

Re: 1971 2 Door 70s build

Well finally settled in the new place and finally have my baby back. First order of business was to swap out the old 13s for a set of SSR MkII's. Running 14x7+0 up front and 14x7.5 -6 out back. Was worried my rears might not fit but turns out my 13s were more aggressive than I was told and they fit ...

Brake Options for 14" Wheels, 510 Struts

Hey everyone, haven't been on here in awhile since i was away for work but now that i'm getting settled in and have the 510 back things are in motion. One of the first things i want to do is change out my brakes up front, they are original and the rotors/pads need to be replaced anyway. My dilemma i...

Re: 1971 2 Door 70s build

Never did update this but got the car running and drove it around for most of my vacation. Back in Ontario now and missing it like crazy haha. Few pictures from driving it around http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/DeathByGoat142/14012595_10154503364843746_1845798016_o.jpg Love the new hood, fi...
