I searched high and low for a JDM reproduction one. Finally found a helpful chap who's able to make them, but they're a plastic with the 'metal' printed on. Still, from a far it looks good and much better than what I had.

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
Because I never actually want to complete and drive this car I'm thinking of jobs to delay the process... One of them was to completely strip the engine bay back to bare metal, prep and paint it. I was never happy with it and when I did the initial restoration didn't have the money to go inside the ...

Re: JDM Nissan Bluebird Coupe (ex JCCA Race Car)
No, they’re front cover bolts. Mine are rusted and as these were so cheap I tagged them onto the order at the end.

Re: JDM Nissan Bluebird Coupe (ex JCCA Race Car)
2024! 10 years in, so much life has been lived this past decade. I'm bumping this to keep myself accountable. This year I will drive it again, and further than the 1 mile I did last in 2022. There are holdups currently and as usual, the bodyshop were slowing it down. I'm close to taking it elsewhere...

The book shows one from Electramotive. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53490866305_c6e81e8a9e_k.jpg Probably be a custom item now, generic pump and tank, make the lines, bracket etc. ARE sump might still be available https://drysump.com/index.php/oil-pans/nissan-datsun/85-datsun-l16-l20-dry-sump...

Re: Fully counterweighted crank?
They're for another project, not mine. The shop does a lot of custom cranks for one off restorations of rare, vintage cars or bespoke race cranks. And now people like me who wondered how hard would it be.

Re: Fully counterweighted crank?
For those following along, I can't wait to get my engine rebuilt now.
I have been told drilling needs to be done before the nitriding, as it can't be drilled after. But can be easily drawn in cad for 5 or 6 bolt.

Re: Fully counterweighted crank?
Nice. Curious to find out the final cost, and if you have any plan to do more than one. Almost embarrassed to say  one of those projects where the cost run away. But, as with these things, most of the money is in making the first, the others will just be a case of loading the material and pre...
