Repurposing Heater Core

So a few weeks ago I found two brass heater cores at an estate sale. For $10, I thought they were a bargain and I was sure I could find something to use them for. Aside from using them as a heater core (duh), what other purposes can you guys think of? I was pondering an oil cooler perhaps? Or maybe ...

Re: 280ZX Brake calipers sourcing problems

The 280zx stock setup will work fine for my needs. But, any insights into what manufacturer is most reputable? There are quite a few options to choose from when searching rockauto, autozone, o'reilly, etc... In my experience, remanufactured parts are a gamble...more so with some companies than other...

Re: 280ZX Brake calipers sourcing problems

I have the same issue. A few months ago I started comparing brands and wondering which would be best. Now, there is no debating because there simply are not options at this time. Hopefully this is just a lull in the supply cycle and it will return to normal. Otherwise, more expensive options may nee...

Hey there Keith, Byron, Robyn, and all other orators. Thanks all for sharing. I'm still making my way through the retelling of your great memories and experiences. It's discussion threads like this that set this site apart from others. Yes, we love our cars. But they are only one chapter in our nove...

Re: Keith Law's complete TALES FROM THE GREAT ROLLING DYNO

Love the tales of old. You will always have an attentive ear from me. Yes to the photos! To add a little to our cabin days... The cabin was in Grand Lake Colorado, before the town was turned into a tourist mecca. There were no t-shirt shops, no trinkets with 'Grand Lake' stamped on them. What I reme...

Re: Keith Law's complete TALES FROM THE GREAT ROLLING DYNO

As a kid, my father gave me two books that would wind up fueling a lifelong passion for outdoor adventures. The first was this: IMG_5109.JPG We couldn't afford to formally participate in the Boy Scouts, but my father did as a kid and passed this manual on to me. I would spend countless hours every n...

Re: Hello - Introduction

Funny...my car is titled as a 72. But, I was looking at the list thinking, wow...those vins are much higher than mine (266055). Sure enough, checked the manufacture date, which is 3/1971. Ughh...gotta get that corrected this summer.

Re: Bert Vorgon's Spring Maintenance Project

I'm always amazed at all the wizardry that is going on with your car. I learn something new every time. One thing I haven't seen yet - on any Datsun for that matter - is one of these devices from Masterlube. I intend to install one on my 510 eventually...but it is at the bottom of the list. Perhaps ...

For those who like to marvel at our place in society and evolution, check out this TED Talks: https://www.ted.com/talks/kevin_kelly_on_the_next_5_000_days_of_the_web Worth noting is that it was filmed in 2007! Also note the co-mingling of evolution and the blurring between the virtual world and real...
